Pokemon Episode 140: The Superhero Secret

Scenario:
Ash and friends are walking through a forest on their journey to Azalea Town; Ash sees a shadow gliding through the trees. Brock recognizes the shape as a Gligar, a bat-like Pokémon which is temperamental and is shy of people. Ash calls to the Gligar to come out, then they all fall into a hole. Team Rocket appears, puts a gate over the hole and starts to pump water into it, thinking they'll be able to catch Pikachu when it floats to the top. Ash wants Pikachu to attack but Brock points out that since they're in water they'll all be electrocuted. As TR pumps more water down, Togepi slips out of Misty's arms, falls into the water and panics.
Suddenly the Gligar comes down, crashes through the gate and rescues Togepi. A pudgy man in a purple costume jumps onto a tree branch and identifies himself as Gligarman, the defender of the defenseless! Team Rocket says they have never heard of him, much to his embarrassment. Misty thinks he must be a superhero because he rescued Togepi.
Gligarman tells his Gligar to attack TR, and it swoops down and latches onto Jessie's face. Meowth tries to attack with Fury Swipes but the Gligar lets go at the last moment, and Meowth ends up scratching Jessie's face instead. She starts to fight with him, but when the Gligar comes back, TR gets scared and run away. The three friends climb out of the hole and Misty is grateful for the help. Gligarman tries to jump down from the tree but falls on his face instead. He returns Togepi to Misty then jumps into the bushes and comes back with a large motorbike. After giving Brock a whistle with a Gligarman symbol on it, he drives away.
No sooner has he left when a teenage girl comes on a bicycle and apologizes for any trouble Gligarman has caused. Her name is Latoya; Brock flirts with her and gets dragged away by Misty. Ash asks Latoya if she knows who Gligarman is, and she gets nervous and bikes away toward a town. The friends go to town and discover a toy store that sells Gligarman toys. Brock recognizes Latoya's voice inside, she's a salesgirl. Again Ash asks her about Gligarman. The store's owner, also Latoya's father, comes out and begins to show them a video about Gligarman. After the video ends, Togepi starts to pull on the owner's pant leg and acts as if it recognizes him. Misty becomes suspicious, and the man accidentally calls her by name. Ash claps a mask on him and he is revealed to be Gligarman. Brock asks him if he can date Latoya, and Ash wants to know if he has a secret cave. He tells them to keep quiet because nobody else must know about who he is.
Team Rocket is outside watching with binoculars, they realize Gligarman is a fake and decide to deal with the "impostor superhero" by acting like supervillains. Jessie dresses in a black outfit while the other two have Metapod costumes. The owner and Latoya show the three friends around their mansion after making them promise not to tell anyone about it. It turns out that Gligarman wasn't originally a superhero. When the toy store was first opened, sales weren't doing so well, so the owner dressed up in a Gligarman costume and made action figures for publicity. Gligarman became so popular that he realized that he liked being a superhero as well as a businessman. Latoya isn't happy about it but her father insists that people need someone to look up to.
On the bottom floor is a large secret laboratory, and Gligar is there waiting. Gligarman suggests that Ash could be his replacement so he can retire but Ash declines, saying he wants to be a Pokémon master. Brock offers to do it but Latoya tells him to get serious and he gets upset. Suddenly an alarm goes off and video screens show that the store is being attacked. Gligarman and his Gligar rush off, and Ash runs after them to help. TR has tied up several employees and is making a mess of the store when Gligarman and Ash show up and challenge them. Gligar latches onto James' face this time, but Meowth appears driving a large robotic Spinarak which he uses to trap Gligarman, Ash and Pikachu in a cocoon. The robot punches through the wall to the outside, and Meowth ties the cocoon onto a lamp post.
Employees run out of the store, addressing Gligarman as "Mr. Parker" and saying they have faith in him. Gligarman realizes that they had known all along who he was. Before he can say anything, a mysterious girl in a Gligar costume appears on the roof of the store, calling herself Gligirl. She calls to Gligar, who recognizes her, and obeys her command to cut the cocoon down from the pole. Freed, Ash sends Pikachu out. TR try to catch him but he's too fast. Gligar keeps James on the run with its Poison Sting attack. Meowth uses the robot to shoot webs, but the Gligar stops it with a Quick Attack, and Pikachu follows up with Thunderbolt. The robot goes out of control and explodes, sending TR blasting off. Gligirl disappears as the store employees applaud the performance.
Later, Ash asks Latoya why she decided to become Gligirl, and she says when she saw them all in trouble she grabbed a costume. Gligarman still isn't ready to retire so Ash suggests that they work together as a father-daughter team for a while, and they briefly argue over who gets to have Gligar. As Ash and friends leave, Gligarman reminds them to call if they ever get into trouble.

Pokemon Episode 139: Foul Weather Friends

Scenario:
Continuing on their journey toward Azalea Town, Ash and his friends are passing through a field with lots of grass types such as Bellsprout and Gloom, and they see a strange pink Pokemon hopping along the path. Brock says it's a Hoppip, Misty thinks it's sweet. The Pokedex says that Hoppip are as light as a feather and can be lifted by the gentlest breeze. As if on cue, the Hoppip floats away on the wind and they all chase after it.
Before they can get it, a girl catches the Hoppip with a net, and she already has another one with her. Brock chats her up but Misty hauls him away by the ear. The girl's name is Mariah and she trains Hoppip. When they come to her house, Ash notices the instruments on the roof and she explains that she is a weather forecaster, and uses the Hoppip to help her make predictions. She also studies the relationship between Hoppip and the weather. Being a Hoppip trainer makes her happy, even though she has to chase after the Hoppip sometimes.
Behind her house is a fenced enclosure, her Hoppip are all here, eight of them. A breeze comes along and the Hoppip all float into the air, except for one. It jumps off a rock but it doesn't float and falls down. Misty notices something different about it and cleans it with a handkerchief. It's an Oddish! Mariah says that it had played with the Hoppip for a long time and wants to become one so it can fly. Team Rocket watches them with binoculars, and Meowth comes up with an idea to steal the Hoppip and use them for an aerial delivery service. James doesn't like it, what if the breeze doesn't get the Hoppip to their destination? Meowth wants to try anyway.
Ash and friends are watching the Hoppip when TR shows up with large paper fans and tries to blow the Hoppip away. When their effort isn't enough, Meowth brings out a giant electric fan. The Hoppip float away but are quickly caught. Ash isn't going to let TR get the Hoppip, and releases Chikorita. Jessie brings out Arbok but Chikorita's Razor Leaf knocks it out. Meowth increases the power of the fan but Pikachu zaps it and it explodes, sending TR blasting off. Ash complements his Pokemon on a job well done, and Chikorita bumps Pikachu out of its way. Misty complements the Oddish for helping catch the Hoppip and it's happy.
Suddenly the Hoppip gather together in a bunch. Mariah says that this means there's a big storm coming. They go into her house and she checks her instruments, and says that there's a tornado on the way! TR is walking along the road, and gets swept up by the tornado. Our heroes take cover; the tornado tears the roof off the house, and the Hoppip and the Oddish are carried away. Mariah and Misty almost get swept away too. When the storm passes, they all go out to search for the Hoppip.
They find the Oddish under the wreckage of the roof, it's okay and wants to find its friends. Mariah says that it has always been very caring toward the Hoppip. One Hoppip is found in a tree, Brock climbs up to get it. A second is stranded in the middle of a stream, and Brock goes into the water to pick it up. Number three is seen floating in the air, and they all chase it. TR is in their balloon, with the other four Hoppip. They were lucky that the wind blew them right into the balloon. Seeing the floating Hoppip, they catch it with a net. Below, an angry Misty uses her Staryu to bring the balloon down.
Ash confronts TR, and James brings out Victreebel, which chomps him. Ash gets out Heracross while Jessie releases Arbok. Misty wants to send in Staryu also but the Oddish wants to battle. Victreebel attacks, and Oddish kicks it. Misty notes that it has a strong kick because of all the hopping around it does. Oddish uses Stun Spore and another hefty kick to finish Victreebel. Now Arbok tries a tackle, but Oddish leaps over it and uses Sleep Powder. Arbok is out. Meowth decides to battle for once and uses a Scratch attack. The Oddish powers up a Solar Beam, and TR blasts off a second time. The Oddish is very happy, and Brock tells it that while one can't do everything, it's what one can do that counts.
Before departing, our three heroes help Mariah rebuild her house. Brock thinks about staying and helping Mariah with her research but Misty nips that idea in the bud by dragging him away. And so the journey continues

Pokemon Episode 138: Chikorita's Big Upset

Scenario:
Narrator: "As we join our friends today, Ash is locked in a tense pokémon battle with an aspiring young trainer that they met on their way to Azalea Town." The episode begins with a pokémon battle. Ash's Chikorita is butting heads with a young boy's Raticate. Ash tells Chikorita to use Tackle, and the boy tells Raticate to use Hyper Fang. Raticate's Hyper Fang connects, sending Chikorita flying, but she gets right back up and runs in again. The boy tells Raticate to use Quick Attack, which also hits and knocks Chikorita down again. Again, she gets up, ready to fight. Ash says that she's had enough for today, and is about to return Chikorita, but she shows defiance. Brock wonders to himself why Chikorita would want to continue after all the damage it's taken. Chikorita uses Razor Leaf, which hits Raticate dead on. Ash compliments the Razor Leaf, but says he's switching her with Pikachu and tries to return her. Chikorita perks up at the word "Pikachu", and dodges Ash's return beam. The boy just stands there watching. It is now evening, and Ash is still trying to return Chikorita. The boy's mother calls him in for dinner, and he returns Raticate. Ash starts, saying how they are in the middle of a battle, but the boy simply says that he can't wait all night for Chikorita to listen. Ash then returns Chikorita, and asks her pokéballin a concerned voice, "What's wrong with you?"
At the Pokémon Center, Ash is calling Professor Oak. He tells the Professor about his Zephyr badge, and Oak reminds him casually about the GS ball. Oak is then ambushed by Muk, and he comments that Muk is just as affectionate as ever, especially at dinner time. A short time later, all Ash's pokémon are in the lobby of the center, eating. Except for Chikorita, who is sitting sadly at the window. Ash wonders what's wrong. Pikachu brings a piece of his food over to Chikorita, but she bats it away with her leaf. A glasses-wearing Nurse Joy then says that a pokémon's behavior is driven by psychology. She offers to see what's wrong with Ash's Chikorita. After asking Ash a few questions, she deduces that Chikorita is jealous of Pikachu. Since Ash tried to return her when she thought she was about to win a battle for Ash to send in Pikachu instead, she thinks that Ash trusts and cares more for Pikachu than for her. Ash is disheartened, but Joy promises to help them through it.
They take Chikorita to a greenhouse. Joy says the plants will help her relax, but she should stay there for the night. Ash returns her to her pokéball and gives the ball to Joy. During the night, Pikachu wakes up and runs off to the greenhouse. He sees Chikorita's pokéball on a pillow. Just then, she comes out of her pokéball. She looks around, and sees that a sliding door leading outside is partially open. She runs out through the door, and Pikachu is close behind. A video camera records the whole thing.
After a little while, Pikachu catches up with Chikorita, but she holds him back with Razor Leaf, then runs off into a field of tall grass. Pikachu follows, but Chikorita hides and Pikachu passes her by. Chikorita then sees an abandoned warehouse, and heads for it. Inside, she runs to a box and falls asleep. Later, she is awakened by a gang of fighting-type pokémon: Machoke, Hitmonchan, Hitmonlee, and Primeape. Primeape attacks, but Chikorita defeats Primeape with Vine Whip. The other pokémon kneel down to Chikorita's level and smile kindly at her, indicating that they are now her friends.
Back at the Pokémon Center, in the morning, Ash and the rest watch the video recording of Chikorita and Pikachu running away. Joy says that this is a textbook case; Chikorita craves Ash's attention, and running away is a great way of getting it. Ash guesses that Pikachu followed Chikorita to try to get her to come back, since he blames himself for the whole thing. Joy tells them about the tough pokémon gangs in the area, and they run out into the town to look for Chikorita and Pikachu. After a little while of looking, Brock has the idea that Bulbasaur can probably track Chikorita by scent, and if they can find Chikorita, Pikachu will probably be close by. Bulbasaur finds her scent, and they run off towards it. Jessie and James happen to be watching them run off from an alley. They radio to Meowth in the balloon that Pikachu is on the loose. After a little looking, Meowth spots Pikachu.
Pikachu, meanwhile, find the warehouse and goes inside. He calls for Chikorita, who comes out, but before anything can be said, Team Rocket makes their entrance. They throw at net at the two pokémon, but Primeape appears out of nowhere and knocks the net away. He is joined by the rest of his gang. Jessie and James end up on the ground, grovelling for their lives. Meowth decides to use his secret weapon: a 40-foot-tall robot made of tires. It breaks through the roof of the warehouse. Ash and company see Team Rocket's balloon and hear the loud noise, and run off towards the warehouse. Jessie and James grab ropes that Meowth sends down for them, and get brought about half way up into the balloon. Chikorita, meanwhile, tells her new friends to attack the robot. The robot knocks each of them out in one hit. Chikorita runs at the robot for a Tackle, but is almost stepped on. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt, but Meowth tells him to save his energy. His electricity won't work on the rubber robot, and the balloon is too far away to shock. Jessie and James, however, and much closer, and were shocked by Pikachu's Thunderbolt. Ash and the rest run up to the warehouse just in time to see Pikachu in the robot's massive hand. Chikorita uses Razor Leaf, but it is useless and she, too, is swept up by the robot. Brock notices a small antenna on the robots head, and thinks that that must be how Meowth is controlling the robot. He says that breaking it would shut down the bot. Naturally, Ash jumps at the chance to help his pokémon and sends out Heracross to use Horn Toss to fling him onto the robot's head. Misty tells him that it's too risky, but he says that he has no choice. Pikachu and Chikorita are his friends, and he has to take the risk. Heracross then throws Ash up the the top of the robot. Of course, Meowth moves the robot and Ash misses, falling into a pile of tires. He gets up and sees the robot walking away with his pokémon, but sees a water tower nearby. He climbs up the tower, and tries to jump onto the robot's head from there, but Meowth moves the robot again and Ash misses. Chikorita vatches him in his fall with Vine Whip, and sets him down on the robot's head. He then breaks the dish off. The robot goes nuts, and drops Pikachu and Chikorita. All three of them run back to Brock and Misty. The robot, meanwhile, has decided to grab onto the ropes that Jessie and James are on. Meowth cuts the ropes loose with his claws, but Jessie and James fall on the robots head, breaking it. The robot explodes, sending Team Rocket blasting off again.
The gang of pokémon, Ash, and his friends watch as they go flying. He then leans down and massages the cheeks of both Pikachu and Chikorita, and all three of them laugh. Back at the Pokémon Center, Ash thanks Nurse Joy for her help. Joy wishes that she could've studied Chikorita's psyche. Brock runs over and says that she can study his psyche any time. Misty then drags him away, saying that his psyche is psycho.
Ash says that they'd better get going, and Pikachu jumps onto his shoulder. Chikorita looks sad, but Ash tells her that the other shoulder is just for her. The episode ends with our heroes walking down the road against the sunset, towards their next adventure.

Pokemon Episode 137: Grin to Win

Scenario:
While walking along the path, dying of thirst and all their canteens dry as a bone, our friends learn that the next closest town goes by the name of Bloomingdale. Ash and Misty then spot some water sprouting out of a nearby leaky pipe. A girl appears and begins to tighten the pipe, but Ash quickly asks if they can take a drink. Having agreed to Ash’s request, Brock begins to thank her in a very flirtatious manner. Misty then interrupts by dragging him away by his ear.
Having filled up her canteen, Misty thanks the girl and introduces herself. The kind girl then tells our heroes that her name is Sunreeser. Having finished gathering all the water they need, Sunreeser then screws the pipes back together and is about to tighten them with a large wrench. But Brock offers to perform this laborious task. On their way back into town, Sunreeser tells our friends that the sun shines nearly every single day and that the weather is perfect for raising her favorite Pokémon. Upon arriving at her house, which happens to have a greenhouse right next to it, she turns on an underground valve to activate some pure water sprinklers. Sunreeser then calls for her Pokémon to come out for their daily sprinkle. Three rather odd-looking flower Pokémon then come running out, one of them looking really depressed. Brock recognizes them as Sunflora and learns that Bloomingdale is famous for them. Ash then refers to his Pokédex to learn more. “Sunflora, the sun Pokémon. This smiling Pokémon loves the sun but it also needs plenty of water to ensure healthy development.” Brock, commenting on how the pure water must make the Sunflora happy, learns that they have to be happy or else they don’t stand a chance of winning at the Sunflora Festival. Ash, a little curious, asks what this is. Sunreeser tells Ash that it is a big celebration they have in Bloomingdale every year to see who has the best Sunflora. Although Sunreeser has not won yet, she might have a chance this year. A stranger, named Cirrus (who has won festival three times), then walks up to the fence and after a brief conversation with Sunreeser, tells her that Lester has hired a comedian to keep his Sunflora happy!
Brock, having noticed the depressed Sunflora, tries to make it smile by making faces at it. Pikachu also gives it a go but nothing seems to work. Sunreeser introduces this Pokémon as her prized Sunflora, Sunny. She was planning of entering Sunny into the competition, but lately she has been so sad. Our heroes offer to help her smile again, but the sun begins to set and all three Sunflora go back inside the greenhouse to rest. Ash, Misty, Brock and Pikachu also head off to the Pokémon Center for a much-needed sleep.
During the night, Team Rocket appears from behind a tree and break into a greenhouse. Jessie and James want to grab as many of the Sunflora as they can but Meowth has a better idea. His plan involves entering one of these Sunflora in a Sunflora contest and to win a year supply of instant noodles. Jessie and James love the idea and Meowth uses a sunlight simulator to wake all of the sleeping Pokémon. Although all of the Sunflora look exactly alike, James is an expert on Sunflora as the gardener from his grand ma ma’s estate taught him. James tries to find a winner, but finds faults with each one (very funny). Meowth then trips over and accidentally pushes a button. Having activated some kind of alarm, Meowth is caught in a net. Jessie and James quickly make their escape and leave Meowth behind. Cirrus then appears and tells the thieves to come back. Our friends, not that far away, are awoken by the alarm and quickly run to help. Having caught up with Cirrus, he tells them that he has caught a cat burglar, literally! Misty recognizes the thief as Meowth and whispers an idea into Ash’s ear. Ash tells Misty to go for it. Misty then pleads Meowth’s innocence and asks Cirrus to let him go under their custody. Although Meowth is surprised that the “twerps” sprung him, he quickly learns that he must help them in return. Meanwhile, outside a greenhouse, a pink Snubbull appears sniffing for Meowth (recall the Snubbull from Snubbull Snobbery).
Having taken Meowth to Sunreeser, Misty tells her of her idea. After Meowth has a rather amusing conversation with Sunny, Sunreeser learns that she is sad because her Sunflora friend from down the road isn’t around anymore. Having learned that it was Cirrus’s Sunflora, Jessie and James then quickly snatch Meowth and make their get away. Our friends, upon arriving at Cirrus’s house, ask him about the Sunflora Sunny was talking about. Apparently he had traded that Pokémon with one from Nurse Joy. After eventually arriving at the Pokémon Center they go to Nurse Joy and find Gwendela, Sunny’s friend. After a joyous reunion, Sunny is now back to her usual happy self.
The Sunflora Festival begins and Meowth is seen dressed up in a Sunflora outfit. Having to hear Meowth’s numerous complaints, James tells him to do it for the year supply of noodles. The judges, having narrowed the field down to three, introduce the final contestants. One of them is Cirrus’s humungous Sunflora. Brock reckons this one is on steroids (very funny). The second finalist is Sunny and the final one is Meowth. After talking among themselves, they believe that Meowth must be a new species and it sound as though they about to declare him the winner. But suddenly, Snubbull walks up on stage, finds Meowth’s tail and bites it. Meowth jumps out of his costume and up into the air screaming in pain. Team Rocket, now that there cover is blown, use a smoke bomb to announce their arrival. Jessie then grabs Snubbull and ditches him. James activates these huge mirrors around the stadium to direct the sunlight onto all of the Sunflora. The Sunflora’s heads begin to grow really big and they fall over. Ash, Misty and Brock think they want to steal all of the Sunflora but Jessie and James tell them that they are wrong again and use their balloon to capture the noodles. Our heroes try to stop them but Jessie chooses Arbok. In retaliation, Ash selects Chikorita and tells her to use her vine whip but it misses. Misty then selects Poliwag and it begins to slap Arbok with its tail. Arbok then uses poison sting and Poliwag is now in trouble. The balloon then gradually takes off with the stolen goods, but Chikorita uses razor leaf to bring it back down. James then selects Weezing but Ash tells Pikachu to use thunder shock. But as Pikachu is about to attack, Chikorita, out of jealousy, bumps him out of the way. The thunder shock then blows up all of the mirrors. Sunny, having now recovered, uses its huge solar beam attack to blow Team Rocket away.
The judges, now deciding the winner, select Sunny due to its great smile and its powerful solar beam attack. Everyone gives Sunreeser and her Pokémon a standing ovation. Ash, Misty, Brock and Pikachu then say goodbye to their new friends.

Pokemon Episode 136: Charizard's Burning Ambition

Scenario:
Our heroes, while trekking through some very mountainous terrain, comment on how all this walking is killing them. Misty, having heard that Ash wished he had as many badges as he had blisters, tells him that he can’t expect to win badges when all of his battles are against Team Rocket. In another part of the mountains, not that far away, Meowth, looking through a pair of binoculars, comments on how they are wearing them down. Misty then says that it wouldn’t mean much of they gave out badges for beating those pathetic losers. All of them agree, even Jessie and James (very funny). Having become a little disheartened, Jessie thinks that they should pick on someone else for a change, but Meowth has different ideas. James concludes that they have 12 Pokémon, one of them being Charizard and thus they don’t stand a chance. Misty and Brock then tell Ash that he uses Charizard all the time, and it is unfair. Team Rocket then echo their sentiments by crying out “unfair”. Team Rocket’s cry is echoed through the valley and a spunky girl with green hair, a red sexy outfit and a cane appears wondering where the noise came from. The spunky girl then demonstrates the echo in the valley by calling for Charla. Three flames emerge from behind a large mountain. Brock then refers to his Pokémon guide, “The Charisific Valley natural reserve is a well-known Charizard habitat that is officially off limits to tourists.
The spunky girl then introduces herself as Lisa, a Charizard trainer. She walks up to Ash and notices the subtle scent of a Charizard and concludes that he must have a one. Lisa has wanted to see Ash and his Charizard ever since she heard of his victory over the Violet City gym leader. Lisa then invites Ash to the Charisific Valley to see all of the wild Charizard. Brock, having noticed that Ash seems a little hesitant, quickly accepts the invitation. Lisa gain calls for Charla, and suddenly, a Charizard (with a pink bow on its head) appears with a carriage attached to its tail. But as the carriage only has room for two, Ash must ride on his Charizard’s back. Ash, a little concerned, selects Charizard and asks for a ride but Charizard refuses. Already up in the air, Lisa notices that Ash’s Charizard will not let him ride. Using some reverse psychology, Lisa asks Charizard that is Ash too heavy for him? Charizard lets Ash hop on, but in a rather clumsy attempt to take off Ash falls off without Charizard even knowing. Giving it a second go, they eventually take off but it doesn’t look very graceful.
Flying in the carriage, Misty learns that Charla is special as all the other Charizard in this valley are wild. She also learns that Lisa is here to protect all of the wild Charizard from poachers. Ash, now having caught up with Lisa, attempts to follow Charla but Charizard comes to a sudden stop and plummets towards the ground. Upon nearly crashing into a river, in between two deep canyons, Charizard straightens up and uses some stepping-stones to take off. After eventually getting off the ground, Charizard flies into a nearby forest and must dodge the many trees. Eventually, Ash and Charizard make it through the forest but end of falling into yet another deep chasm. Meanwhile, sliding down the edge of a mountain, Team Rocket decides to steal all of the Charizard in the Charisific Valley.
Misty and Brock, having reached the entry to the Charisific valley, begin to see many gigantic Charizard sculptures. Upon landing at the gates to the valley, Lisa tells Misty and Brock that this is a place where Charizard have lived in peace for thousands of years. It is an ancient place where the greatest Charizard in Pokémon history have come from. Here they compete against each other and their rivalry is intense. Struggling, Ash and Charizard eventually walk up to the gates. Having to defend his Charizard from the verbal onslaught from Lisa (she thinks Charizard is weak and needs more training), Ash challenges Lisa’s Charla to a battle. Lisa then says that he cant battle Charla as she is not wild. She then opens the gates to Charisific Valley and once inside, our heroes see a large number of humungous Charizard. Lisa then picks the smallest one (still twice the size of Ash’s Charizard) for him to battle. Charizard walks up to it and uses its flamethrower attack on its head while it wasn’t looking.
The Charizard in this valley however don’t like sneak attacks, and the larger Charizard uses its flamethrower in retaliation. Charizard, having been blasted to the ground, stands up and shakes it off. Lisa then decides to pick the gentlest Charizard, who just so happens to be lying down. Charizard walks up to it, and once awakening it, uses his flamethrower. The gentle Charizard then hops up turns around and sends Charizard flying with one whip of its tail. Charizard, having battled the two weakest Charizard in the valley, obviously cannot compete and Ash tries to reassure Charizard that he is still perfect for him. Furious, Charizard hops up and is still determined to fight. Storming off, he challenges the gentle Charizard again. But, not surprisingly, Charizard is hit with another whip of its tail. All of our friends tell Charizard to forfeit but he continues to battle. The stronger, gentler Charizard then stomps on Ash’s Charizard and then knees him though the gates and outside the valley. Charizard then crawls his way back up the stairs but Lisa, while closing the gates, tells Ash to come back when his Charizard has had more training. Meanwhile, having seen Charizard be humiliated, Team Rocket realise that they have no chance of stealing the wild Pokémon. Jessie then thinks they may have a chance if they use their new secret weapon, which just looks like a giant robot boy.
Charizard, by continually pounding on the gigantic gates, eventually gets Lisa’s attention. She opens the door and decides to let Charizard battle her Charla. But Charla just grabs Charizard by one arm and flings him into the water. Lisa then tells Charizard that truly great Pokémon know their limitations, and she tells him to stay there to cool off and think of a way to improve himself. Ash, having seen Charizard stay in the exact same position until nightfall, realises that he must decide whether to let Charizard stay. Team Rocket, understanding Charizard’s plight, decide to help him get into the Charisific Valley. While spying through a small gap in the gates, Lisa and Charla both agree that Charizard has a lot of heart to stay in the water for such a long time. As the night unfolds, our friends eventually doze off but Team Rocket, by throwing rocks at Charizard’s head, keep him awake. Eventually Ash awakens to see that Charizard has indeed lasted the whole night, and declares that if Charizard wants to get stronger that badly, it would be wrong to stand in his way.
Team Rocket then use their robot boy to try and crash down the gates. Charizard flies out of the water, jumps in front of the gigantic robot boy and uses flamethrower to eventually blow it up. Team Rocket however do not mind as they only wanted to help. Lisa opens the gates and decides to let Charizard train with them. Ash, mystified by Lisa’s change in heart, asks why. Lisa then tells Ash that Charizard has proven to her that he wants to be great. All the other Charizard fire their flamethrowers in approval. Ash, reluctantly, decides to let Charizard stay. Ash, seeing the shocked expression on Charizard’s face, turns his back and tells him to go. Storming off crying, Ash quietly says goodbye to his long time friend and hopes that they will meet again. Charizard, realises Ash’s intention, and is determined to become the greatest Charizard it can be.

Pokemon Episode 135: Tanks Alot

Scenario:
Ash and friends are napping under a tree, but they're being watched by a Pokemon that's eating a fruit. Team Rocket is driving a large tank that's made to look like a giant Arbok. Jessie wants to name it the ArboTank. She sees Ash and company through a periscope and wants to catch Pikachu but James points out that the noise would wake them. So they come up with a different plan: they'll sneak up and grab Pikachu and use the tank to make their getaway. The strange Pokemon drops its fruit and tries to wake Togepi but accidentally starts Togepi rolling down a hill. Togepi finally wakes up and makes friends with the other Pokemon. They run together off a cliff and fall into the ArboTank's open hatch. Then they start to play with the controls and the tank powers up and drives away. Team Rocket sees this and chases after it.
Misty wakes up and realizes that Togepi is missing. Ash is awakened by something tapping his head, at first he thinks it's Pikachu but it's another of the strange Pokemon. The Pokedex identifies it as a Sentret, which can use its high-pitched voice to sound warnings of danger. Misty thinks it can help them find Togepi. Brock says that by the way it's acting, it's looking for something. There's a crash in the distance, and they all run to investigate. The tank keeps crashing into rocks. A group of Sentret jump in front of it but it just keeps moving and scares them away. Team Rocket is upset by all this since they sacrificed a lot to save the money to have it built. Ash and friends meet up with TR on the road and they learn that Togepi is inside the tank. Brock calls out Onix and they ride on its back to catch up. Meanwhile, the young Sentret finds a lever that activates two mechanical fists which punch through the rocks. Brock has a plan to stop the tank: they'll dig a hole and fill it with water so the tank can't get out, then rescue the Pokemon. As they all work, Psyduck just swims in the water. Soon the tanks approaches, and falls into the hole.
Who's that Pokemon: Igglybuff The trap works! Misty and Ash jump down to the tank to try to get in. The young Sentret inside is now caught in some wires, and when it moves the tank starts to move again. Pikachu gets trapped inside too as the ArboTank climbs out of the hole and continues down the road. Team Rocket appears dressed as magicians and make the tank seem to vanish. They had dug another hole just down the road - digging holes is their specialty, after all. Meowth leaps over to the hatch and gets inside to find all three "drivers" swinging from the wires. Pikachu attempts to zap Meowth but the electricity jolts the motor and causes the tank to bounce away on a giant spring. Back to the chase! Ash tells the Sentret to sound a warning to the Pokemon in the area, and many Sentret, Sandshrews and Diglett evacuate the vicinity. In the tank, Meowth is trying to get the young Pokemon out of the wiring, because they're picking up speed. He realizes that they're heading right for a mountain and if they hit it the tank will be destroyed. In the nick of time, Togepi uses Metronome to make a tunnel through the mountain!
Brock consults his map again, the tank's course is taking it directly toward a town. He plans to have Charizard slow the tank down enough so the Pokemon inside can be rescued, then it'll use Flamethrower to destroy it. Jessie and James protest since they'd put a lot of effort into getting the tank in the first place. In town, the local Officer Jenny notices that something's wrong. Ash has Charizard land in front of the tank and try to stop it, but the tank pushes him back. The Sentret tries to help too. Inside, Meowth is trying to find the brakes but the controls just snap off. Pikachu zaps the control panel, which doesn't help either. Finally Brock asks Onix to grab the tank's tail, which gives Charizard the opportunity to burn a hole in the front so Pikachu, Togepi and the young Sentret can escape. Jessie and James climb in, hoping that they can salvage it, but it explodes and sends them blasting off.
The young Sentret gets a scolding from its mother and Misty tells Togepi that she won't let it drive any more until it's 18. Officer Jenny rides up on her motorbike and thanks them for creating the tunnel through the mountain. Now people can drive through the mountain to Violet City instead of having to go around.

Pokemon Episode 134: For Crying Out Loud

Scenario:
The next Gym on Brock's map is in Azalea Town. Misty notices some nice houses next to a lake and Brock says one can find beautiful girls in beautiful places like this. Then he sees a girl by the lake, claims she's the girl of his dreams and wants to meet her but suddenly a Marill pops out of the bushes. Misty tries to catch the Marill with a Pokeball but it doesn't work, and the surprised Marill starts to cry VERY loudly. Brock calms it down and notices a ribbon tied on its tail, which means it must have a trainer. Misty apologizes but the Marill cries again. Ash jokes that Misty scared it. A tractor and hay wagon comes up, and the two farmers in the cab offer them a lift. However, once they're all in the wagon, robotic hands grab Pikachu and Marill, and the tractor detaches and drives away. The farmers were Team Rocket! Marill has a tantrum, and the noise distracts Meowth who was driving. The tractor crashes into a fence, TR blasts off and the two Pokemon fall down a hill. Ash and Misty run down the hill, Ash trips and collides with a tree. Misty grabs the two Pokemon but slips and falls into a river. Brock and Ash are too late to help them and Misty yells for them to take care of Togepi before being washed downstream by the current. At that moment the girl from the lake runs up and begins to shake Ash, demanding to know where her Marill is. Brock apologises and introduces himself, and the girl says her name is Wilhemina. Downstream, Misty and the Pokemon are safe on shore. Marill cries and Misty yells at it to stop, scaring it into running away. She and Pikachu chase after it, not seeing that its ribbon fell off. Marill trips over a rock and gets ready to cry again, and won't let Misty hold it. Misty scolds it and turns to leave but can't bring herself to leave it alone, so she ends up walking with it following behind her. She suggests that Marill use its sensitive hearing to listen for its trainer, but gets impatient when it takes too long and Marill gets upset. Ash and friends are searching along the river, and Wilhemina gets worried about her Marill since it's young and hasn't been out on its own. Brock consoles her, and she seems to have taken a liking to him. Togepi finds the ribbon lying on the shore. Misty is resting and has given Marill and Pikachu some Pokemon food. Marill sees a Butterfree fly by and chases after it until it gets to a clearing, where it keeps trying to hit the Butterfree with Water Gun. Unfortunately this has stirred up a bunch of Caterpies and Weedles, and worse- Beedrills! Misty grabs Marill and runs. Ash hears Pikachu's voice and looks down the path to see Pikachu and Misty being chased by the Beedrills. He, Brock and Wilhemina drop down and the Beedrill fly over their heads as Misty runs past. Misty keeps running but is trapped by a cliff, so asks Pikachu to Thundershock the Beedrill and drive them away. As they celebrate, the sky clouds over and it starts to rain. Ash, Brock and Wilhemina are sheltering under a tree. Brock is uncertain about what to do since he likes Wilhemina and doesn't want her to be unhappy. Ash decides to wait until the storm stops before continuing to look for Misty. Misty, Marill and Pikachu have found a hollow tree. Marill gets scared by lightning and runs away. Once again, Misty has to chase it. When a tree gets hit by lightning and starts to fall, Marill is too scared to move, and Misty dives to save it. It is about to cry again when Misty says she's glad it's okay, and the Marill is grateful. When the storm clears, Misty and the Pokemon try to cross a swinging bridge over the river. Suddenly a mechanical hand shakes the bridge, it's Team Rocket again! Meowth is using a controller for two hands, and makes one grab Pikachu as TR floats up in their balloon. When Pikachu is safely caught, the other hand grabs Marill but Misty grabs on to it and hangs on. Her weight is too much for Meowth who has to let go of the controls. Misty grabs Marill as they fall, but they are both saved by a Vine Whip from Chikorita. Wilhemina happily hugs her Marill and Chikorita uses Razor Leaf to disable the balloon, so Ash can catch Pikachu. TR won't give up that easily and sends out Arbok and Weezing. Misty's Poliwag stops Weezing but Arbok uses Poison Sting. Marill saves her by using its Water Gun, and Pikachu sends TR blasting off again. Ash complements Chikorita and Pikachu looks a little disappointed. Wilhemina invites them all to visit her house but Ash wants to continue on his journey. Brock wants to see her again sometime, and she says feels the same and drives away in her car. Misty is going to miss Marill.

Pokemon Episode 133: Fighting Flyer with Fire!

Scenario:
As our heroes stare in amazement at the Violet City gym, Jessie and James, in a rather pathetic disguise, make their appearance pretending to be conducting a survey on behalf of the Pokémon Bureau. Although Ash, Misty and Brock have never heard of it, they let Jessie examine Pikachu to see if he meets the official Violet City gym standards. James concludes that he is a Class B Pikachu, commenting that he is “buggy, bleary eyed and blubberish”. Jessie and James confiscate Pikachu and run off around the corner. Flying off in their hot-air balloon, Team Rocket performs their motto and makes their escape. Pikachu is stuck in an insulated jelly jar, where his thunderbolt has no effect. Ash tries to use Heracross, but Meowth drops a jar of Grade A sap and Heracross returns to begin feasting. A trainer then appears flying a hand glider, and instructs his Hoot Hoot to go and get Pikachu. Jessie, upset at having her Pikachu stolen, instructs Arbok to use poison sting. Having successfully punctured the glider’s fabric, it begins to plummet towards the ground. The trainer then selects Pidgeot and jumps on his back. Jessie tries Arbok’s poison sting attack again, but Pidgeot uses spin to avoid it. Pidgeot then flies by the balloon and tears it apart, sending Team Rocket blasting off into the sky.
The trainer, after landed Pidgeot, hands Ash’s Pikachu over. After some reminiscing about his Pidgeot, the trainer tells Ash that he uses the hang glider to better understand flying Pokémon, as he wants to be the world’s greatest flying Pokémon trainer. After having become friends, the trainer introduces himself as Falkner, the Violet City gym leader. Shocked at this revelation, Ash warns Falkner that he is here to battle! While in a lift, making their way upwards towards the battleground, Falkner and Ash agree, that although they are now friends, they will battle hard. Upon reaching the top of the building, the battle for the Zephyr Badge begins.
Falkner begins by choosing Hoot Hoot. In response, Ash selects Chikorita, a rather surprising selection considering that grass Pokémon are weak against flying Pokémon. Allowing Ash to make the first move, he tells Chikorita to use vine whip. Hoot Hoot dodges the attack by flying away. Chikorita tries her vine whip again, but Hoot Hoot climbs to dodge the attack and then dives into a tackle attack. Hoot Hoot connects and continues with a peck attack. Chikorita then uses razor leaf but Hoot Hoot climbs and dives with a full speed tackle attack. Chikorita sidesteps and uses vine whip. Hoot Hoot again dodges the attack and finishes Chikorita off with a tackle attack. Having lost the first battle, Ash tells Pikachu he’s next. Hoot Hoot starts off with a tackle attack but Pikachu dodges it easily with its agility. Falkner tells Hoot Hoot to climb but Pikachu is still able to hit it with a thunderbolt. Having fallen to the ground, Ash tells Pikachu to finish it off with a quick attack. Falkner then selects a Dodrio, surprising both Brock and Misty. Ash then comments on how Dodrio can’t fly, but Falkner surprises Ash by hinting at the fact that his can. Ash makes the first move by telling Pikachu to use his agility. Dodrio however, matches Pikachu move for move. Pikachu uses thunderbolt but Dodrio dodges the attack by flying (which is just jumping, except that it is really high). Dodrio then attacks with fury and drill peck attacks respectively, injuring Pikachu. Dodrio attempts to finish Pikachu off with its tri attack but Pikachu jumps and finishes it off instead with a thunderbolt. Falkner pulls out no surprises with his next Pokémon, and selects Pidgeot. Pikachu, although exhausted is keen to battle on. Ash tells him to use thunder but the attack dissipates half way through. Pidgeot then finishes Pikachu off with whirlwind.
Now, having reached the final battle, Ash selects Charizard. Ash and Falkner both tell their Pokémon to fly. Charizard attempts to use his flamethrower but Pidgeot uses agility to dodge the attacks. Ash tells Charizard to use flamethrower again, but this time Pidgeot uses whirlwind to hit Charizard with his own attack. Having fallen to the ground, Falkner tells Pidgeot use wing attack. In an attempt to get out of the way of the approaching maneuver, Ash tells Charizard to fly but his wing was hurt by the fall. Unable to fly, Pidgeot connects with two successive attacks. Things aren’t looking good for Ash and things only get worse when Falkner advises him to forfeit. But Ash and Charizard, being the fighters they are, refuse to give up. Falkner decides to teach Ash a lesson, and tells Pidgeot to strike with another quick attack. Ash tells Charizard that he knows he is capable of flying, as he wouldn’t ask otherwise. Charizard, spurred on by Ash’s overwhelming confidence, flies and avoids Pidgeot’s attack. Charizard, now flying behind Pidgeot, looks as though he is in a very good position. But Pidgeot uses agility to appear behind Charizard and then uses a quick attack. Charizard flies up behind Pidgeot again, but the same thing happens. Ash, having come up with an idea, tells Charizard to fly up behind Pidgeot again. Predictably, Pidgeot uses quick attack but this time Ash is ready for it. He tells Charizard to turn around and use fire spin. Having trapped Pidgeot, Charizard finishes it off with a seismic toss.
Ash and Charizard, having been declared the winners, are extremely happy. Falkner acknowledges Ash’s brilliant strategy of using Pidgeot’s quick attack to his advantage and gives him his well-earned Zephyr badge. Now inspired to train even harder, Falkner wishes Ash good luck.

Pokemon Episode 132: A Bout With Sprout

Scenario:
As Ash, Misty and Brock are walking through town looking for the Violet City gym, a little girl and boy are seen fighting over Pikachu. The kids, by continually grabbing and poking Pikachu, make him launch an all-out thunderbolt attack. Ash quickly picks him up, but although saving the kids from Pikachu’s attack, he takes the full brunt of it. A rather attractive woman then comes running out, calling for Zackie and Lizy (the boy and girl fighting over Pikachu). Upon learning that our friends were on their way to the Violet City gym, she introduces herself as Miss Priscilla, a teacher from the Pokémon Academy. Brock, not wishing to see her go, offers their services to help teach the kids about Pokémon (without consulting Ash and Misty!).
Once inside the Academy, a principle, dancing in a ballerina outfit, is introduced as Mr. Earl Durbish. Misty, a little concerned by the principle’s behavior, asks Miss Priscilla if there is anything wrong with him. Miss Priscilla replies by saying that she just loves people dancing with that kind of energy. Brock, quick to realize an opportunity to impress her, appears in the exact same outfit and begins to twirl in the exact same way as the principle. Once the class had been seated, Ash begins teaching … so to speak! Being the modest person he is, Ash begins to talk about how he was in the top 16 in the Pokémon League. Zackie then asks Ash why they should listen to him if he wasn’t the winner (good point!). Having come to a bit of a stumbling block, our friends decide to go outside and release all of their Pokémon.
Chikorita quickly places herself between Pikachu and Ash (I begin to see a little bit of friction). Heracross is also seen sneaking up on Bulbasaur, but he quickly defends himself by whacking Heracross with his vine whip. While all the children are enjoying themselves with the various Pokémon, Brock spots a rather large tower not far from the Academy. Miss Priscilla tells our heroes that it is called the Sprout Tower and it so named because a single beam that sways back and forth supports it. As her class is going there later on this afternoon, she invites Ash, Misty and Brock to come along.
While all the other children are having fun with the other Pokémon, Zackie is seen trying to convince Pikachu to be his Pokémon but all of his rather annoying attempts fail. While Ash is trying to figure out a way to get out of this one, Zackie steals one of Ash’s Pokéballs and chases after Pikachu. As they have now left the confines of the school area, Ash wonders whether he should chase after them. Chikorita, meanwhile, is trying to grab hold of Ash’s attention, but he is a little preoccupied. Ash gathers up all of his Pokémon and goes after Pikachu, deciding that they will meet up later on at the Sprout Tower.
While searching for Pikachu in a nearby forest, Zackie spots him hiding behind a tree. He throws the Pokéball at him and it appears as though Zackie has caught Pikachu!! Ash, astonished, can’t believe what has just happened and after Zackie brags about his victory; he quickly grabs hold of him and demands Pikachu back. But before Ash has a chance to collect, they both fall into a hole that Team Rocket had dug. Upon finishing their rather boring motto, Team Rocket tells Zackie to hand over the Pokéball (as they too think that Pikachu is in it). But being a rather gutsy little kid, Zackie throws the Pokéball and tells Pikachu to use his thunderbolt attack, but instead a wobbly Bellsprout appears. James thinks that Pikachu’s sick (very funny indeed!) Meowth then comes up with the idea that if Pikachu thinks Ash is in trouble; he will come to the rescue. So, Team Rocket hide up in a tree and use phony voice megaphones (that sound like Ash) to lure Pikachu. Their plan seems to work but before they have a chance to capture Pikachu in a net, the real Ash tells Pikachu to run. Pikachu dodges the net and Zackie and Ash use it to climb out of the hole. Ash then tells Pikachu to use his thunderbolt attack and Team Rocket go flying off and end up landing on the Sprout Tower roof.
Meanwhile, inside the Sprout Tower, Miss Priscilla tells Brock and Misty that trainers stop here as the wobbly beam reminds them of when they started training Pokémon. Team Rocket, having overheard the conversation, realize that Ash will be coming shortly. James uses Weezing’s smoke screen to get everyone out of the building (as they think there is a fire). Once everyone is outside, Ash and Zackie are seen walking back towards the Sprout Tower. A little upset about catching a Bellsprout, Zackie asks Ash if they can trade. Zackie, after Ash refuses to trade, begins to cry, but Bellsprout quickly cheers him up with some rather weird maneuvers. Suddenly they see the smoke coming from the tower and quickly run towards it. Upon meeting up with Misty and Brock, Ash uses Squirtle and Misty selects Poliwag to help put out the fire, but nothing happens. Team Rocket then makes their appearance and lure our heroes back inside. To our friends’ astonishment, they see Arbok, Lickitung and Weezing sawing the central beam and it appears as though a rocket is tied to it. Pikachu hands himself over to stop Team Rocket from launching the Sprout Tower and as Jessie picks him up he attacks with a thunderbolt. But Team Rocket just happens to be wearing insulated gloves and boots. Ash goes for one of his Pokéballs but Meowth spots him and threatens to launch the rocket with his remote control. Zackie uses Bellsprout’s razor leaf to knock the remote out of Meowth’s hands. Jessie orders Arbok to get it but Squirtle stops him with his water gun. Bulbasaur then grabs hold of the remote with his vine whip. Bellsprout then uses razor leaf to stop Lickitung and Weezing from cutting the beam. Team Rocket tries and makes their escape (they still have Pikachu) on the rocket by using the manual override. It appears as though the while building is about to blast off, but Bulbasaur and Bellsprout use their razor leaf attacks to free Pikachu and slice the ropes holding the rocket to the beam. Team Rocket end up blasting off.
Ash is worried about how shaky the beam is, but Zackie reassures him by saying that it is strong. Team Rocket are then seen flying through the sky, enjoying the ride I might add, but the rocket explodes! Ash, Misty and Brock say goodbye to Miss Priscilla and the children but Brock does not want to leave. Principle Durbish, still dancing in his ballerina outfit, then offers Brock a position-teaching dance. Brock declines the offer and they all head off towards the Violet City gym.

Pokemon Episode 131: Ignorance is Blissey

Scenario:
As Ash, Misty and Brock are walking through town, starving and with sore feet, they come across a Pokémon Center. But as they quickly run to the front door, Ash finds it locked. After knocking and calling for Nurse Joy, Blissey opens the door and knocks Ash to the ground. Having not seen a Blissey before, Ash refers to his Pokédex for more information.
”Blissey, the happiness Pokémon. It is kind hearted and loves helping people. Blissey is the evolved form of Chansey.” After Brock makes some unusual comments about Blissey’s hairstyle, Ash’s stomach grumbles. Excited to help our hungry friends, Blissey rushes them inside and begins preparing some food. Blissey returns with the food trays piled one atop the other and runs towards our friends. Worried about the trays falling, Ash, Misty and Brock quickly make a run for it, but Ash falls over and the food trays end up falling all over him. Blissey takes Ash to the showers so that he can wash up, and offers to scrub his back. Blissey then brings out a harsh broom and takes one swipe across Ash’s back causing him immense pain. Ash, now lying on a bed is seen with some very bad scratches on his lower back. Blissey apologizes and wishes to help, so she puts some rubbing alcohol on Ash’s injuries, again causing him to scream.
Nurse Joy awakens from her slumber and makes her way to find Blissey to see if anything happened while she was asleep. After opening a door, she sees Ash covered from head to toe in bandages, and screams. Recovering from her shock, Nurse Joy apologizes for Blissey’s behavior and tells Ash that she tries very hard to be the best nurse she can be. Our heroes then have to go to bed hungry.
In another part of Happy Town, Team Rocket is also very hungry. James has an idea to sneak into the local Pokémon Center to pick up some Pokémon for the boss and while there, steal some food. Excited about James’s brilliant plan, Team Rocket quickly break in to the Pokémon Center but are unable to find any food except for some parsley Meowth was able to find. Not willing to share it, Meowth runs off and Jessie quickly gives chase but accidentally finds Blissey instead. Not wanting to get caught she runs off in the opposite direction, but Blissey runs after her and jumps on her back. It seems as though Blissey is extremely happy to see Jessie. Jessie, after finally recognizing who Blissey is from a key chain around her neck is also happy to see her ‘old’ friend. Upon taking a seat out in the dining room, Jessie tells everyone of how, when she was young, she wanted to be a nurse. Of course to accomplish her dream, she had to go to a Chansey Nursing School. Although she was a very capable student, Jessie just didn’t fit in with the other Chansey (as you could imagine) but while there she became very good friends with a Chansey, who has evolved into the Blissey she run into today. After Meowth and James are seen crying, Jessie’s stomach begins to grumble. Blissey, keen to help her friend, takes Jessie to the food pantry and gives them all (and I mean all) of the food.
The next morning, our heroes are concerned about their measly breakfast, and tell Nurse Joy that this must be all the food that is left. Nurse Joy takes our friends to the food pantry to see where all the food is, but low and behold, it’s empty. Nurse Joy, looking a little angry, takes a look at the security video from the previous night and sees Blissey happily taking all of the food. Nurse Joy warns Blissey that she could be in big trouble and that her actions could threaten her nursing career.
Outside of the Pokémon Center, Team Rocket sees that Blissey is in big trouble. Not willing to see Jessie’s old friend in trouble (as she has so few of them), James suggests that they pretend that they tricked Blissey into giving them all of the food. Team Rocket lands their balloon and blatantly tells everyone in the surrounding area that they dropped all of the food they stole from the Pokémon Center. Nurse Joy and our friends quickly dart out of the Pokémon Center and Team Rocket introduces themselves in their typical moronic fashion. Once finished, Jessie and James quickly put their plan into action and it works perfectly. After Ash demands the food back, Team Rocket suggests that they swap all of the Pokémon for the food. But after Nurse Joy rejects the offer, Blissey appears and spots Jessie. After running toward her, Jessie tries to stop Blissey’s advances by using Lickitung and Arbok to attack her. They end up severely hurting Blissey and Jessie yells at them for attacking her friend so harshly. Meanwhile, Nurse Joy believes that Blissey is trying to redeem herself for losing all the food. Blissey hops up and continues happily towards Jessie. Lickitung then gently uses a slam attack and Arbok lightly bits Blissey. Still unaware of Jessie’s attempts to scare her off, Blissey continues to run towards her. Jessie, although a little upset at her friends continual advances, is determined not to ruin her career. So Jessie fires a blast from her bazooka that stops Blissey in her tracks and abuses Ash of being gutless. Meowth then uses these mechanical hands to grab Pikachu. Pikachu responds with a thunderbolt attack and falls into Ash’s awaiting arms. As Nurse Joy asks Blissey for forgiveness for doubting her, Blissey finally becomes aware of what Jessie was trying to do. Ash, after his stomach begins growling, selects Squirtle and Chikorita to lend him a hand. Pikachu then uses his thunderbolt attack against Arbok and Chikorita uses her vine whip attack against Lickitung. Squirtle then blasts all of Team Rocket with his water gun. Still not defeated, Team Rocket hops back into their balloon and begin to take off with all of the food. Chikorita uses her razor leaf to release the food and to pop the balloon.
As the food falls to the ground, Ash begins hugging it and all our friends go back inside for a much needed feast

Pokemon Episode 130: The Whistle Stop

Scenario:
As Ash, Misty and Brock approach a thin, wooden bridge, Team Rocket are hiding beneath it and are planning to capture our friends in an awaiting cage. But as they sing and dance about they upcoming victory, the bridge collapses and they end up floating down the river. When our friends eventually arrive at the now destroyed bridge, they ponder a way to cross the river.
Six-ladybug type Pokémon then appear high up in the sky and are carrying a short haired, attractive women. Referring to his Pokédex, Ash learns that these Pokémon are called Ledyba and that they generally gather in groups during cold weather to keep warm. Brock, in a Dexter like voice says “Girl traveling with Ledyba. This natural beauty’s short boyish hairstyle provides the ideal compliment to her warm feminine features. This girl is obviously Brock’s type”. This is actually quite funny. The short haired girl then instructs her Ledyba to begin their descend in a commanding voice and with her high-toned whistle. Upon landing, and after Brock finishes his usual flirting routine, Ash asks for help to cross the river. Aerial, Brock’s new love interest, then offers to fly our friends over one at a time.
Apparently Aerial had to fly over anyway to work in the apple orchard. In a commanding voice and using her whistle, Aerial instructs her Ledyba to begin pollinating the orchard. Ash, although appearing to know what the Ledyba are doing has absolutely no idea what pollination is. Wishing to lend a hand, Ash selects Heracross and instructs him to help the Ledyba in pollinating the orchard. Instead, Heracross begins sucking sap out of a nearby tree. Ash, a little embarrassed asks Aerial how she is able to control her six Ledyba using a single command. It seems as though Aerial commands her Ledyba by playing different notes on her whistle, which has been passed down through her family for generations.
In another part of the orchard, Team Rocket is spying on them and decides to steal her whistle. Team Rocket, pretending to be from some sought of antique TV show, steal Aerial’s whistle from around her neck. Jessie attempts to blow the whistle to get the Ledyba to attack, but the Ledyba refuses to obey. Jessie uses Lickitung’s super sonic attack but Aerial counterattacks by commanding her Ledyba to use their tackle attack, but they do not listen. Pikachu uses thunderbolt to blow up Team Rocket’s balloon. Ledyba also flee the area to escape all of the commotion.
As Ash, Misty and Brock search for Aerial’s missing Ledyba, Brock has an idea to use his Zubat’s super sonic to find them. But his idea failed and all Zubat finds is a bunch of Golbat. Aerial then mentions that her Ledyba love the smell of flowers so Ash selects Heracross and asks him to use his sniffer to find a place that smells like flowers. Heracross then flies off and it appears as though Ash might have had a good idea. But Heracross instead finds a tree to suck sap out of! Better luck next time Ash.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket is repairing their damaged balloon in a lovely garden filled with flowers. Meowth attempts to blow the whistle but is finding it rather difficult. After laughing at Meowth’s pathetic attempts, Jessie instructs Arbok to go and find some food. But Meowth gets some kind of noise to come out of the whistle and ends up charming Arbok. Team Rocket then spots Aerial’s Ledyba and Meowth commands Arbok to dive under ground to round them up. Although Jessie didn’t think Arbok would listen, he does and Meowth successfully captures the Ledyba. The Ledyba attempt to flee and Team Rocket is forced to grab hold of the runaway Pokémon. In a panic, Ledyba releases an orange colored powder.
As our friends continue their search, Aerial doesn’t think that her Pokémon will listen to her without the whistle. Ash and Brock quickly jump in to reassure Aerial that they will as she trained and nurtured them and therefore the whistle doesn’t really matter, Aerial, after some reminiscing, admits they are right and detects a faint scent which Ledyba emits when they are in trouble. Pikachu quickly climbs a nearby tree and finds something rather odd, not that far away. Ash and his friends then run into an orange fog and follow an orange trail that Aerial’s Ledyba must have left behind.
Team Rocket is then seen being dragged along by Aerial’s Ledyba. Arbok quickly wraps itself around a tree and grabs hold of the net to stop the Ledyba from dragging them along any further. Ash, Misty, Brock and Aerial quickly close in and order Team Rocket to releases Aerial’s Pokémon. Instead, James launches an oversized net and captures our friends. Lickitung and Victreebel are ordered to grab hold of Pikachu. Aerial, still wondering if her Pokémon will listen, orders her Ledyba to help her. Enraged, the Ledyba break free and tackle Arbok, Lickitung and Victreebel. As Ledyba chases Team Rocket, Ash uses Bulbasaur’s razor leaf to destroy the net that had captured them. Victreebel then uses razor leaf to attack the Ledyba, but through some quick thinking on Aerial’s part, they are able to dodge Victreebel’s attack. Jessie tells Lickitung to use super sonic, but before it has a chance to use the attack, Pikachu attacks it with a thunderbolt. Aerial then tells her Ledyba to use a full speed tackle attack to blast Team Rocket away.
After having been reunited, Aerial and her Pokémon are extremely happy, and they go back to work without the use of the whistle. After saying their goodbyes, our heroes leave with the knowledge that they have some new friends.

Pokemon Episode 129: Once in a Blue Moon

Scenario:
As our friends quietly sit on the foreshore of a nearby river, Ash is seen polishing his Pokéballs. Ash believes that in becoming the world’s greatest Pokémon trainer, he is a firm believer in Pokéball maintenance. After finishing polishing his ‘regular’ Pokéballs, Ash must take special care of the GS ball. Just as Ash begins to start with the GS ball, Brock finishes preparing lunch. But before our friends have a chance to eat anything, a strange looking Pokémon pops its head out of the nearby river. Ash pulls out his Pokédex and asks Dexter what it is: “Quagsire, the water fish Pokémon. The Quagsire makes its home in clean fresh water lakes. The Quagsire is covered by a slippery layer of skin making this Pokémon especially difficult to handle”. As Misty is a lover of water Pokémon, she finds Quagsire extremely cute and wants to capture it, but as she is about to release one of her stronger, more highly trained Pokémon, Psyduck appears. After a bit of a staring contest, Quagsire emerges from the water and grabs Ash’s GS ball and swims up the river. Our heroes give chase but they cannot keep it with this slippery Pokémon, so Ash uses Squirtle to catch Quagsire but due to its slippery skin, Squirtle cannot hold on. Not willing to give up, Squirtle again gives chase but as he is about to catch up, Quagsire uses his tail to whack him away. After hitting Quagsire on the back of the head with Squirtle’s water gun attack, Quagsire drops the GS ball and Pikachu catches it. After Squirtle and Quagsire have a brief water gun battle, Officer Jenny appears on her motorcycle. She then arrests our friends for violating the Quagsire Preservation Restrictions.
Once back in the police station, Professor Oak pleads our friends innocence as he forgot to tell them about Cherry Grove’s strict Quagsire laws. Cherry Grove City apparently uses the Quagsire to judge how pure their water sources are as they only live in the cleanest of water. Ash, after finishing talking with Professor Oak, wonders why the Quagsire had stolen his GS ball. Officer Jenny, in response, tells Ash that the Quagsire probably took it because it was round. Around this time every year, the Quagsire appear looking for anything round and they swim back upstream to their home at Blue Moon Falls. The next morning, the things taken float back down the river and their owners reclaim them. CherryGrove City considers it good luck; especially of the owners is the last one that comes back.
Quagsire then appears outside the police station window, still after the GS ball. Ash however is not willing to let it go and Quagsire looks rather upset. After walking back through town, our friends journey across a bridge and see a different Quagsire unscrewing a shiny ornament from the bridge. Suddenly, Quagsire appears and jumps on Ash, trying to get into his back pack in search for his GS ball. Ash chooses Chikorita to lend him a hand, but she panics when she sees Ash being attacked by Quagsire so she uses the leaf on her head as a kind of windmill and knocks everyone over. Brock then tells Ash that Chikorita has become a little overprotective, as she appears to have a crush on Ash (very funny). Meanwhile, Quagsire is still on Ash’s back and Chikorita spots him. As Chikorita attacks with her windmill thing, the GS ball falls from Ash’s bag and Quagsire swims off with it. Ash attempts to give chase but Chikorita grabs hold of his leg and he falls to the ground.
In another part of town, Meowth is playing with a round ornament he found in a nearby field (looks like the one the Quagsire had taken from the bridge). James, pretending to be a fortune teller, gazes into the ‘crystal ball’ and attempts to find out where the “twrips” our hiding. But out of nowhere, a Quagsire’s reflection appears on the ball and takes his ornament back. Just as James and Jessie were about to free Arbok, Victreebel and Lickitung, three other Quagsire appear and take their Pokéballs.
Meanwhile, our heroes after losing Quagsire come across the Quagsire that had stolen Team Rocket’s Pokéballs and they decide to follow them hoping that they will lead them to the Quagsire which took their GS ball. Ash, Misty and Brock then see a whole bunch of Quagsire and Ash decides to capture the one who stole his ball. Misty however quickly stops Ash and reminds him what Officer Jenny had told them. On the other side of the lake where the Quagsire are swimming, Team Rocket spot our friends and decide to steal all of the Quagsire. As the gradually descend in their balloon, they try to capture the Quagsire one by one with these mechanical claws but the Quagsire is too slippery and they quickly escape. Team Rocket then uses a net to capture all of the Quagsire. They then use the mechanical claws to grab hold of Pikachu. But before they have a chance to escape, some Quagsire on the foreshore begin firing rocks at them. Pikachu escapes from the Team Rocket’s clutches and Ash uses Bulbasaur’s razor leaf attack to free the other remaining Quagsire. Once free, one of the rocks punches the balloon and Team Rocket disappear into the night sky.
All of the Quagsire then grab their round objects and swim upstream to their home at the Blue Moon Falls. Upon arriving, each of them uses their water gun attack to fire their round objects at the moon. Brock observes that it is some kind of competition to see who gets theirs closer to the moon. The Quagsire with Ash’s GS ball fires his last and it appears to go the highest. The Quagsire are extremely happy and begin cheering, but Ash’s GS ball begins to float back downstream. Ash, Misty and Brock chase after it but it is not until the next morning that they catch up with it. After arriving at a location where a whole bunch of people appear to be gathering to collect their round things, our friends, although exhausted claim their GS ball and as it was the last one to come back down the river, Ash will have the best of luck this coming year.

Pokemon episode 128: Chikorita Rescue

Scenario:
As our friends are walking up a hill, they see a nearby mountain covered in snow. As Brock rambles on how skiing would be the perfect sport for him, Ash spots a Chikorita sunbathing in a nearby field. Dexter: “Chikorita, the leaf Pokémon. Chikorita emit pleasant aromas from the leaf on its head and they love to sunbathe”. Ash first yells to warn everyone that he is about to capture it. Chikorita, now all riled up about the approaching battle prepares herself. Ash, Misty and Brock notice that this one must be tough. Ash, more determined then ever, selects Bulbasaur. Chikorita attacks but Bulbasaur replies with his vine whip and knocks Chikorita back. Chikorita recovers quickly and delivers her razor leaf attack but Bulbasaur uses his razor leaf attack to deflect it. Bulbasaur, now a little too confident, uses a tackle attack to knock Chikorita down. Ash, now thinking he has weakened Chikorita enough, throws a Pokéball at but she hits it back with the leaf upon her head. While Bulbasaur is distracted, Chikorita uses her vine whip to hit Bulbasaur on the head; Ash recalls him and selects Charizard (bit of a mismatch). Chikorita runs at Ash’s fire Pokémon but Charizard simply uses its foot to stop Chikorita’s pathetic attempt. As Charizard was about to use his flamethrower, Chikorita grabs hold of Charizard’s other foot with her vine whip and flips him over. Chikorita then uses razor leaf, but Charizard’s burns them with his flamethrower. Ash then tells Charizard to finish it off with a tackle attack but Chikorita hits him on the head with her vine whip attack and they both end up crashing head first into a nearby mountain. Charizard, a little dazed by his collision is recalled and Chikorita collapses from exhaustion. Ash, Brock and Misty quickly take her to the nearest Pokémon Center for treatment.
Team Rocket, having seen Ash’s battle with the Chikorita decide that this gutsy Pokémon is just what their team needs. After admitting Chikorita into the Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy advises Ash and his friends that she will be just fine. Apparently, the Chikorita around these parts are famous for their stubbornness and battling bigger and stronger Pokémon. Out of the blue, Team Rocket disguised as ambulance officers show up and steal Chikorita. Before escaping, they quickly introduce themselves and escape in an ambulance with the help of Weazing’s smoke screen. Ash and Pikachu give chase, and take a detour up the mountain to catch up to them. Ash jumps onto the roof and hitches a ride to Team Rocket’s small cabin in the snowy mountains. Ash, now pondering a way to rescue Chikorita realizes that he has left all of his Pokéballs at the Pokémon Center.
Meanwhile, inside the cabin, Team Rocket attempt to get Chikorita to sign some sought of employment form, but Ash interrupts and does his own version of Team Rocket’s motto (it is actually very good). After finishing, Ash then starts ditching snowballs at them and Pikachu and Chikorita make their escape. But once they are outside, Ash, Pikachu and Chikorita are captured in some kind of steel rings. Before Team Rocket has a chance to do anything, our friends, now bundled together make a run for it down the snowy mountain. But Ash slips and falls down, pulling Pikachu and Chikorita along with him. As they are rolling down the mountain, they quickly form a large snowball and crash into a large tree. Having been covered by snow, Team Rocket does not notice Ash at the base of the large tree.
Ash, Pikachu and Chikorita begin to trudge through the snow but they end up getting lost and Chikorita runs off in her own direction. Ash and Pikachu, noticing that it is snowing rather heavily, take cover in a cave. Ash now concerned about the well-being of Chikorita, reminisces about their battle and runs off in search of Chikorita. As he is running off he tells Pikachu to stay under cover and that he will be back soon. After finding Chikorita freezing and alone, Ash returns to the cave where they end up spending the night.
The next morning, Ash, Pikachu and Chikorita decide to head back to the Pokémon Center. But Team Rocket shows up and it appears as though Meowth has a new toy that fires snowballs. After one of the snowballs hits Ash in the head, Chikorita uses her razor leaf attack to break up the other remaining snowballs. Chikorita then uses vine whip to hit Meowth’s new toy and short-circuits it. Snowballs begin flying everywhere and Pikachu uses a thunderbolt attack to blow Team Rocket away.
Misty, Brock and Nurse Joy then come running up to Ash and once back at the Pokémon Center they all say goodbye to Nurse Joy and Chikorita. But upset at Ash’s leaving, Chikorita gives chase and decides to join Ash’s select group of pokémon

Pokemon Episode 127: Little Big Horn

Scenario:
As our friends make there way through the park to reach the middle of the city, they see some rustling in some nearby bushes. A pair of antlers then appears, which Ash mistakes for a pair of eyes. The Pokémon’s head then emerges and Ash refers to his Pokédex to get some more information. Dexter, “Stantler, the big horn Pokémon. The eye like shapes at the base of its horns produces a pleasant odor and has a bewildering effect on anyone who smells it. It can also create startling realistic illusions by shaking its horns. Stantler form herds and live in mountainous terrain”. Brock begins to imitate a Stantler so he can get closer. Upon nearing the distraught baby Pokémon, Brock notices that it has a sore leg. Brock attempts to fix it by enticing the baby Stantler with food. Stantler, however emits a purplish odor from its antlers and suddenly a herd of adult Stantler appear and try and run down our friends in a ground shaking stampede. Brock, Ash and Misty quickly run away and when finally escaping the stampede, our heroes stop to catch their breath and wonder where they had gone. Close by, some more bushes begin rustling and Officer Jenny emerges. Not one who is hurt by rejection, Brock begins to flirt with her but to no avail. Officer Jenny then invites our heroes to the station, which Brock thinks is a strange place to go for their first date!!!
When finally reaching the police station, Officer Jenny informs Ash, Misty and Brock that a herd of Stantler have been scaring away families from the park. Meanwhile, outside the station, Team Rocket is heard running down the street in an attempt to escape the approaching stampede. Team Rocket stop running (in a manner of speaking) and start to perform their infamous motto. Upon completing their ramblings, Team Rocket notices that the herd has disappeared and tells Officer Jenny that they heard there was a herd of Stantler in the park so they went in there to catch them but they only saw one baby Stantler and suddenly a herd of them appeared and started to give chase. Just up the road, a pair of antlers appears from behind a building and the stampede begins again. Frightened beyond belief Ash, Misty and Officer Jenny take cover in the police station. Brock however notices that the Stantler appear to be passing right through a light post outside one of the buildings, so he stands his ground. Worried about his safety Ash and Misty think Brock is run down but he is perfectly all right. The baby Stantler then walks up to Brock and they become friends.
Once back inside the station, Brock bandages up the baby Stantler’s leg. Outside a nearby window Team Rocket spies on them and realises that they have been swindled and so decide to catch this baby Pokémon to give to their boss. James informs his colleagues that he has purchased an anti-Stantler secret weapon in case the Stantler decides to use his abilities on them. Meanwhile, inside the station, while Stantler is sleeping in Brock’s lap, he decides not to keep him but rather return him to his mother.
The next morning, our friends release Stantler at the base of the mountains. But Stantler having bonded with Brock does not want to go. Brock, having the best interests of his new friend at heart, tells the baby Stantler that he doesn’t want it around anymore and tells it to go. As Ash, Misty and Brock are walking back to town, Brock notices Team Rocket’s balloon near to where he released Stantler.
James activates the Anti-Stantler Number 7 via a remote control. This newly acquired secret weapon is an oversized, orange, mechanical Stantler. The mechanical Stantler releases a large net from its mouth, which captures the baby Stantler. As they descend, James uses his machine to stop Brock, who is quickly approaching. Brock, although trapped, releases Onix and instructs him to use tackle attack against the huge machine. Onix then uses his bind attack to blow it up. As Team Rocket is slowly making their escape, Pikachu tries his thunderbolt attack but they are too far away. Brock continues to give chase and the baby Stantler appears to be in a great deal of distress.
An adult Stantler then launches from a nearby hill and splits Team Rocket’s balloon completely in two and the baby Stantler falls to the ground. Ash uses Bulbasaur to try and catch it but the baby Stantler is just too heavy and it continues to fall. Brock then dives and takes a spectacular catch to save the baby Stantler. A herd of Stantler are then seen surrounding the bewildered Team Rocker. Thinking it is another illusion, James ditches his remote control at one of the adult Stantler and it smashes. They then realize that this is no illusion, and one of the Stantler's attacks and sends Team Rocket flying. Our heroes then say their goodbyes as their new friend returns to his herd

Pokemon Episode 126: Snubbull Snobbery

Scenario:
While walking through the middle of town, our friends notice that it is full of huge mansions. Apparently, Palm Hills is famous for its sprawling estates and sweeping lawns. Ash, Misty and Brock then come across a very large mansion and stand at the gate in complete amazement. While gazing at this majestic mansion, three butlers are seen in the background searching for something. As Ash, Misty and Brock continue to walk through town hoping to see some movie stars houses, they find an upset Growlithe. Wondering why it is upset, they see a pink Pokémon attached to the end of Growlithe’s tail.
Brock recognizes this pink Pokémon as Snubbull. Dexter, “Snubbull. The fairy Pokémon. While it may appear gruff and grumpy, deep down Snuggle is a kind and caring Pokémon”. Misty then notices that Snubbull has two pink ribbons attached to both ears and concludes that it must be a girl Snubbull. Ash then jumps in and says that this grumpy girl Snubbull, who isn’t afraid of chasing Pokémon reminds him of Misty, of course he meant this in a good way! Suddenly, a Butler runs past and notices that our friends have found his master’s Snubbull safe and sound. Snubbull’s trainer, who we shall refer to as Madam (as we never really find out her name), then invites our friends to lunch.
The majestic mansion Ash, Misty and Brock found themselves staring at earlier turns out to be owned by Madam. On their way to the frond door, via an automatic walkway, Brock notices that Snubbull is not too happy about being home. Upon entering the huge mansion, Madam shows our friends around Snubbull’s wing (yes, that’s right, she has her own wing). As our heroes are showed Snubbull’s bedroom, her “drive-in” closet, her workout room and her bubble bath (which Pikachu and Togepi quickly take advantage of) they learn that Madam does not like to take Snubbull outside, as she is afraid she might bet sick.
After completing the tour of Snubbull’s wing, our friends go to lunch in a very large room, which Misty thinks is a dining room but in actual fact it is a “humble little breakfast nook”. As our friends help themselves to the large variety of food, Snubbull refuses to eat. Brock thinks he has the answer and rumbles through this backpack in search of a snack for Snubbull. Finally Brock finds what he was searching for – Popcorn Balls, and Snubbull loves them.
Meanwhile, outside the gates of the large mansion, Team Rocket reminisces about James’s wealthy upbringing. Jessie, James and Meowth then decide to rob the place, but while sneaking up to the mansion they run into Snubbull who catches a glimpse of Meowth’s tail and grabs hold of it. At this point in time, the three butlers come running and notice the intruders. As Team Rocket try and make their escape, they run into Ash, Misty and Brock. Jessie then tries to get Snubbull to let go of Meowth’s tail by flinging it around. Eventually it lets go and lands in Madam’s arms. Weezing then uses his smoke screen attack and Team Rocket successfully escape.
Once back inside, Brock tells Madam that Snubbull is a little unhappy. But our friends then learn that Snubbull is not unhappy but rather nervous about her upcoming wedding to Winthrop Snubbull fellow (a rather ugly looking Snubbull). Meanwhile, Team Rocket are plotting to steal Snubbull by using Meowth as bait (literally), he just does not realize it yet. As the two Snubbull trainers chat about their Snubbull and how perfect they are for each other, Brock notices that both Pokémon are trying to escape. Frustrated and a little upset, Brock jumps out from behind the bushes and gives both trainers a lecture. Ash and Misty also jump into the conversation. Team Rocket then appears and introduces themselves in typical fashion. Meowth is then gradually lowered towards Snubbull, and she takes the bait and grabs hold of Meowth’s tail. Before Ash and his friends could be anything, Team Rocket uses some sought of cuffs to immobilize them. As Jessie, James and Meowth hide out in a crappy little shed. Jessie and James start abusing Meowth, but Snubbull comes to Meowth’s aid and protects him from their verbal attack. He then again notices Meowth’s tail and grabs hold of it.
Meanwhile, our heroes continue to search for the stolen Pokémon. Meowth then runs out of the shed screaming in pain. Jessie and James follow closely behind and now everybody knows where they are. Arbok uses his tail to knock out the butlers and Weezing launches his smoke screen. Heracross, after sucking on some flowers, then head buts Weezing and uses his horn attack against Arbok. Snubbull then joins in on the action by biting Arbok’s tail. Brock then convinces Madam to tell Snubbull to use her tackle attack. Snubbull, enjoying herself immensely, is then struck by Arbok’s tackle attack. Furious, Snubbull then unleashes her scary face attack (be warned it is very scary) and then again bites Arbok’s tail. Victreebel is then instructed to attack but instead swallows James. Snubbull then tackles Victreebel and begins to jump up and down on it. Snubbull, eventually begins to fling Victreebel around and when she lets go, Victreebel lands on Team Rocket. Then, somehow, Team Rocket’s balloon returns and they jump inside to escape the onslaught. Heracross then uses his horn attack against the balloon and they blast off into the clear, blue sky.
Finally realizing how happy Snubbull is while “playing” with others, she builds him an exercise yard outside. While Snubbull runs off into the yard to play, our friends say their goodbyes and continue on their journey. Snubbull, while playing, then envisions Meowth’s tail and runs out of the exercise yard and off into the sunset

Pokemon Episode 125: Spinarak Attack

Scenario:
Our heroes make their way to Cattailia City, a town recognized for its magnificent buildings. A patrol car barrels down the street, and knowing that Officer Jenny must be inside, Brock gives chase. However, a few seconds later, he trips over a thin web. Ash and Misty catch up with him and after Togepi notices something approaching, a Spinarak appears. Mistaking it for another Pokémon, Misty walks toward it, until she realizes that it’s actually a spider.
In another part of town, Team Rocket breaks into a storage building. Dressed in odd uniforms, Jessie commands Meowth to pick a lock. Instead, he breaks his claw. Jessie tells Meowth that the Black Arachnid could break through thousands of locks while Meowth can’t even open a single one. Using a lock pick, James enters the building. Inside, Team Rocket takes a small bowl. Suddenly, a patrolman spots them, but James hurls bottle caps at him as they make their getaway.
The police arrive at the crime scene a few hours later. An officer tells Jenny that they have apprehended the thieves. They approach Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu, who are caught in a giant ball of web. Jenny lets them go and explains that they mistook them for the Black Arachnid, a thief that terrorized Cattailia over a hundred years ago. Jenny notices Pikachu and Togepi and asks the team if they’re the professional Pokémon crime fighters her sister from New Bark Town told them about. Ash complies, and asks why the police force uses Spinarak instead of Growlithe. Jenny explains to him that it’s traditional to use Spinarak in Cattailia City. A long time ago, the Black Arachnid ransacked the town. He was known for his "stealthiness" and his professionalism. Accompanied by a Meowth, they used Pay Day to scare the police off whenever it seemed like they were about to get captured. However, the Black Arachnid was stopped thanks to the efforts of the Officer Jenny from 8 generations ago and her Spinarak. Using its web, the Spinarak stopped the Black Arachnid dead in his tracks. Jenny says that her Spinarak is the same one that caught the Black Arachnid over a century ago. Ash volunteers to capture the thieves because it’s wrong to use Pokémon for criminal acts.
On top of the clock tower, Jessie devises their next plan. Afraid of losing his bottle cap collection, James scolds Meowth for eating out of the bowl they stole. Jessie suggests that instead of stuffing his face, Meowth could be learning Pay Day. Suddenly, she gets an idea. She’ll send a letter telling the police what they’re going to steal, and while the they send guards to patrol the site, Team Rocket will take the item from under their noses.
The police receive Jessie’s letter, and they learn that the Black Arachnid is planning to steal the mayor’s prized trophy at midnight. Jenny convinces the mayor to let the team handle it, and he gives it the ok. Ash sends out Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charizard, and Heracross to stand guard. Squirtle dives into the pool. Bulbasaur goes into a flowerbed. Heracross climbs up a tree, and Charizard pretends to be a statue stationed next to a Blastoise fountain. Spinarak also helps by creating webs around the perimeter.
A few minutes before midnight, Ash struggles to stay awake. The clock hits twelve, but the Black Arachnid doesn’t show up. They mayor rushes in and gives the group a giant meal to celebrate and congratulate them. After they finish eating, the lights go out. Team Rocket appears from the ceiling. Ash asks how they got in, and they explain that they hid in the attic all day. He then asks why they didn’t show up at midnight, and Meowth tells them they fell asleep. James uses Pay Day and escapes with the trophy. Team Rocket gets away in their balloon, but Spinarak’s net stops them. Squirtle uses Water Gun, followed by Bulbasaur’s Razor Leaf. Charizard burns the web with a Flamethrower. Team Rocket’s balloon spins out of control with the trophy still in their possession. Spinarak shoots a steam of web to stop Team Rocket, while Charizard Tackles the balloon and makes a cache of loot fall. Ash tells everyone to catch something. With everyone’s hands full, the trophy has yet to be saved. Ash dives in to intercept it, but Spinarak suddenly shoots out a web to catch the treasure, finishing the job.
The next morning, Jenny reports that everything that was stolen has been returned to their rightful owners. She wishes the team the best of luck as they head out of Cattailia. Meanwhile, Team Rocket sobs over their loss. Jessie blames James and Meowth for messing things up, and everyone gets into a brawl.

Pokemon Episode 124: Flower Power

Scenario:
Upon finally making their way out of the forest, Ash, Misty and Brock find themselves at the outskirts of a large city called Flowender. Wondering what they should do next, Misty suggests that they relax and do some sight seeing. Brock quickly jumps in and tells Misty that he cannot relax in a city full of girls that need his protection.
As Ash, Misty and Brock walk along the city streets, they stumble across a young lady who advises them to see the Pokémon Exhibition. The Pokémon Exhibition consists of a number of different Pokémon putting on live stage shows for entertainment during the Flowender Festival. Ash, looking a little perplexed, wonders if his Pokémon could put on a show. But Ash, not being your typical Pokémon trainer, did not mean a life stage show but rather a T.V. show!!!
The first show they go and see consists of a Flareon jumping through a ring of fire. The second performance Ash, Misty and Brock come across is an Oddish balancing on an Electrode. The next event that comes into view is a trainer surrounded by a number of Primeapes and next an Alakazam uses his powers to bend a large, novelty spoon. Ash then sees two strange looking Pokémon doing some kind of acrobatic dancing. Referring to his Pokédex, “Bellossom. The flower Pokémon. When these Pokémon move, their delicate petals rub together creating a pleasant sound. They are also known for their unique acrobatic dancing abilities”. The Bellossom’s trainer (who I might add is a very attractive lady) then instructs them to perform the “Loop-de-Loop” but something goes wrong and a Bellossom comes crushing down into Ash’s awaiting arms.
The trainer, who we later learn is called Bailey, thanks Ash for catching her Bellossom. But Ash, being modest, just says that it was a lucky catch. Bailey then proceeds to tell Ash that he was in the right place at the right time for them. Brock, not wishing these ramblings to continue, intercedes and says “Any place you are is the right place and the right time for me”. Misty, slight embarrassed drags Brock out of sight. While talking outside of Bailey’s trailer we learn that Bell and Bella (the two Bellossom) used to be able to perform the loop-de-loop but Bella is in a little bit of a slump and needs a little more practice.
The episode then cuts to Team Rocket. We see them strolling through the middle of the city and Jessie and James notice that they’re in the middle of a festival and get all excited. Jessie, in a blink of an eye, reappears in a Flamingo dancing costume, while James appears in a ballerina outfit (very funny). Wanting to show off their hidden dancing talent, they use Meowth to gather some money so that they can later perform. Meowth, a little surprised, wonders what he is supposed to do. James and Jessie quickly set up a stage and introduce their pint-sized friend as the one and only talking Meowth. However, Meowth gets stage fright, as he doesn’t know what he is supposed to say. Jessie gives him some jokes but they are a huge flop. James gives it a go but Meowth stuffs the joke up and the crowd quickly dissipates. Of course, now that they have no audience, Jessie and James become a little upset. But not to be pushed aside, Team Rocket ploughs through the middle of the festival in a great bit bulldozer. Ash jumps into the path of Team Rocket and is about to battle them when Bailey steps in and tells Ash that it is not his fight. Alakazam begins by using his powers to flip over the giant bulldozer. Jessie and James quickly recover and instruct Arbok and Victreebel to attack. However, Bell and Bella, using their dancing skills, are able to dodge all of Team Rockets attacks. Finally, Bell and Bella finish them off with sleep powder and Team Rocket runs off.
Team Rocket are then seen eating meatballs in a dirty alley and decide to steal all of the Pokémon at the exhibition the following day. Meanwhile, Bell, Bella, Pikachu and Togepi are dancing outside of Bailey’s trailer. Apparently, Bailey used to train her Pokémon to battle by teaching them how to dance. But she found that Bell and Bella were happier dancing then battling, thus she focused on the dancing aspect. Ashe then asks Bailey how Bell and Bella were able to defeat Team Rocket. Bailey is quick to point out the dancing and battling aren’t so different as dance steps are like a fighter’s footwork. The following day, Bailey teaches Pikachu a few dance steps and advises him to use the to get away from an opponent’s attacks. At the end of the work out, Bailey again tries the loop-de-loop but it is again unsuccessful and Bella gets very upset.
As the exhibition begins, we see the event’s organiser tied up below the stage floor. Team Rocket then proceeds to introduce the performers in today’s events. As the Pokémon make their way onto the stage, Meowth catches them in a huge net and carries them away in their hot-air balloon. Ash uses Heracross to launch Pikachu into the air. Pikachu lands on top of the balloon and uses a thunderbolt attack to bring the balloon crushing back down. Arbok and Victreebel then attack Pikachu, but Pikachu dodges Arbok’s poison sting attack with his ‘nifty’ new dance steps. Victreebel tries to use take down but it too is unsuccessful. Getting a little frustrated, Arbok and Victreebel attack together, but Pikachu jumps into the air and they crush into each other. Victreebel uses its wrap attack to grab hold of Pikachu and Arbok is instructed to use his vine attack. Bell and Bella quickly perform the loop-de-loop to kick Arbok in the head and knock him out. Pikachu then uses thunderbolt and shocks Victreebel. Bell and Bella then team up and use a tornado twister to send Team Rocket blasting off.
After realising that all the other Pokémon are fine, the exhibition continues and Bell and Bella finish off their routine with their amazing loop-de-loop. Their performance was a huge hit and the crowd gives them a standing ovation.
