This is a list of episodes in the animated series Pokémon, named Pokémon: Indigo League for the second DVD release. The episodes aired in Japan as Pocket Monsters, covering the first season of the series about the adventures of series protagonist, Ash Ketchum and his friends, Misty and Brock on the way to the Indigo Plateau. The episodes are directed by Masamitsu Hidaka and produced by Oriental Light and Magic and TV Tokyo.
Ash Ketchum is currently 10 years old and he can start a new journey to become a Pokémon trainer. Ash's first day missed his chance to get one of the three Kanto starter Pokémon: Charmander, Bulbasaur or Squirtle.
However, Professor Oak is a new Pokémon in his laboratory, Pikachu. At first, Pikachu does not like Ash, but then Ash has Pikachu's trust and they became close friends.
On the way Ash met Misty, the Gym Leader in town who loves the water Pokémon. Misty wants to join with Ash until he return her bike that Ash had accidentally destroyed by Pikachu Power.
After that, Ash met Brock, Pewter City Gym Leader is also involved with Ash so he could become the greatest Pokémon Breeder.
Ash captured and made friends with many Pokémon which sets him up for a great adventure.
However, During his journey, Ash had to deal with a trio of Team Rocket's Jessie, James, and Meowth , And opponents of his childhood, Gary Oak, Professor Oak's grandson, who is also a Pokémon trainer that always seems two steps ahead of Ash. After you have all 8 Kato Gym badge necessary to compete in the tournament Pokémon Indigo Plateau, Ash reached the top 16, lost a dear friend, Ritchie.
