Pokemon Episode 276: Hoenn Alone!

Scenario:

Ash and Pikachu are on the boat to Littleroot Town to go onto the Houen League. But for now, the two relax and try to have a great time. They spent the day swimming in a pool and catching some evening rays. A sailor with a Machoke passes by and Ash stops him to ask about Littleroot Town. The sailor says not too many trainers go there, seeing that Ash is a trainer himself. And sure enough it's full of new Pokemon that people from Johto or Kanto never see. Jesse James, and Meowth spy on them from a life boat. They come up with the plan to snatch Pikachu while everyone's asleep, there shouldn't be any problems and they'll be out before anyone knows.

Ash decides to turn in later that night. However, Ash can't sleep since he's too excited to be in Houen and participate in the league. He talks to Pikachu, even though the Pokemon is asleep and finally gets some sleep himself. After a while, the door opens and a robotic hand comes in. The hand grabs Pikachu who cries out and escapes. Ash mumbles about before he wakes up noticing that Pikachu is missing! He runs out of the room and looks around before going on into another hall. As he rounds a corner, he almost bumps into the sailor from before. The sailor asks whats wrong and Ash explains and the sailor gets to work right away. He goes onto one of the ship's computers and checks out the map. If there was any disturbances, it'll show, and sure enough a room was blinking.

In that room, Team Rocket chows down on a pile of stolen food. They bask in their victory and plan to get off at the next dock as soon as they get there. Just on the side is Pikachu in a container who tries to give the prison a jolt. The Rockets laugh, but not for long when Ash arrives on the scene. The Rockets send out their Pokemon to fend them off, the sailor sends his Machoke. Ash would've sent Bayleef, but he forgot he left it with Oak. Weezing sprays out a Smoke Screen which makes the Machoke stop in its tracks. Arbok fires Poison Pin and Weezing combos up with a Tackle. Finally Arbok spits Acid, but the Machoke manages to dodge the attack. The acid, however, hit the hull of the ship! The area floods with water immediately and sweeps everyone away.

As the sailor and Machoke drift off, the Machoke catches a guardrail and the sailor. They both find a phone nearby and the sailor calls up the bridge. The ship makes course for a dock that happens to be nearby. As for Ash and the Rockets, they pop up from some stairs to the mid-deck. The Rockets still have Pikachu with them, and try to make their escape. James pulls out an over-sized grapling hook launcher, fires it, and sucessfully latches onto a crane arm. The Rockets escape and Ash narrow grabs onto Wobuffet, who was hanging at the bottom. Ash tries to go for Pikachu, but it looks like it's cut short when everyone slams smack into the arm. They all fall, the Rockets and Pikachu on top of two trucks, Ash into a pile of crates. Ash tries to get to get out, but he's stuck. The Rockets taunt him while the trucks drive off, but they split at an intersection, leaving Pikachu stuck with Meowth.

Ash sucessfully breaks out of the crates, but from here, it's impossible to know where Pikachu went. Fortunately officer Jenny comes by. She asks Ash what's going on, and Ash explains the whole story.

Meanwhile, Meowth and Pikachu both get knocked off the truck when it did a sharp turn. Both of them landing somewhere else in the port. They walk around, wondering how any of them are going to get back. A Haunter ends up near them and harrasses them, but Meowth tells it to shove off. The Haunter shot out a Night Shade in response but Meowth dodges and counters with Fury Swipes. The Haunter does another Night Shade, not hitting any of them. Pikachu manages a succesful Thunder Bolt and scares the Haunter away. Just as everything seems fine, a group of Pidgey, Rattata, and Oddish surround them.

Jenny gives Ash a ride in her bike, but first she releases a Pidgeotto to scout the port for them. They soon drive off to look for Pikachu. Ash starts to say that he can't go on into Houen without Pikachu. Jenny says she'll do whatever she can to help him find Pikachu.

The gang of Pokémon fortunately are friendly. However, fending off that Haunter was bad news, instead it'll come back, with it's gang, a large one! Pikachu and Meowth get scared, but the Pokémon gang laugh saying it was a joke. They did have some problems recently, because there really is a Haunter gang (though small) and the two don't get along very well. Maybe Pikachu and Meowth can help them fend the Haunter off? They agree on it, at least until each one finds their group.

High above in a balloon is Jesse and James. They too are scouting around, looking for Meowth and Pikachu. With the crowded buildings and narrow roads, their search doesn't look too good.

The Pokémon gang has Pikachu and Meowth ready, and soon enough four Haunters come by. The Pokémon gang says that they got some new people to fight them. The Haunters accept their challenge and quickly surround them. Just as they're about to do Night Shade, Pikachu jumps on Meowth, causing the Night Shade assult to backfire and hit them! While in the air, Pikachu shocks all four of them with an electric attack. But before anything else could happen, Team Rocket finds everyone. They grab Meowth with their hand gizmo and hold down Pikachu with a large metal clamp. They reveal their new secret weapon, a large electromagnet. The magnet turns on and it starts to draw Pikachu towards the Rockets. Fortunately Jenny's Pidgeotto manages to catch the Rocket's in time to put a hole in their balloon.

Ash and Jenny reach the scene on time. But the Rockets aren't going to give up just yet. They turn on their magnet and they draw Pikachu towards them once more. Ash grabs on and slows down Pikachu, but the Rockets turn up the power, so high it moves barrels and heavy objects. Ash finally can't hold onto Pikachu and lets go, Pikachu flying to the magnet. As soon as Pikachu is on, electricity starts going into him. The Pokémon gang and the Haunters start to attack at the electromagnet and eventually knocks it down. The Rattata help Pikachu break free from the clamp and soon releases a Thunder to take care of the Rockets and their contraptions.

Everyone celebrates and Pikachu mentions the groups worked together and should be friends. A Rattata and Haunter shake hands and agree. With everything well, Jenny takes Ash back to the boat. Soon the boat heads off again

Later that night, Team Rocket, stuck on their magnet, sulk as they ride on the boat. Ash relaxes a little in his bed as Pikachu sleeps, this time making sure Pikachu is safe. The next morning, the boat calls that the next stop is Littleroot Town. People gather up on the upper decks to see the town closing in. Ash steps up seeing the town in the distance, ready for the new adventures that lie ahead...

As the boat is edging to the town, Ash sees a flock of Wingull and Pelipper flying ahead. In the water Wailmer swims and a Sharpedo jumps. Ash thinks he should show Pikachu this and heads to the cabin. When Ash tries to wake Pikachu up, Pikachu sparks in response. Ash wonders what's going on but when Pikachu sparks again, he notices it's hot. Pikachu is sick...

Pokemon Episode 275: Gotta Catch Ya Later!

Scenario:

After finishing in the top 8 in the Johto League, Ash and co are headed back to Pallet Town, and on the way, they decide to take a pit stop in Viridian City. They decide to take a stop at the Pokemon Center first (which brings back lots of early memories!), and they deposit their Pokeballs for a healing. Brock starts flirting and gets dragged away as usual J. Ash then asks if she remembers him at all, and tries to remind her of the incident… but she says that it must have been with the old Joy that used to work at the Viridian City Pokecenter. Misty then introduces herself, and Joy gasps, and tells Misty that the leaders of the Cerulean Gym have a message for her! Wondering what this is about, she quickly picks up the phone and calls them. Daisy answers, and tells Misty that they just won the supermarket lottery for three people to go on a world tour, and they’re gonna need someone to watch the house and the Gym until they return! Before Misty could say anything, the connection is cut. Surprised, Misty complains about how its not fair that they get to do all the fun stuff, while she has to housesit…

Ash can’t really think of a sensitive thing to say, so Misty gets annoyed… Then, Joy approaches again, holding… THE BIKE! It seems to be in a bit better condition than last time! She explains that the former Joy somehow managed to fix it, and now she can quickly go back to Cerulean City, and Ash seems relieved that his troubles are over… However, Misty complains that it’s still not as good. Then, she starts blowing up at Ash about how its his fault that the bike will never be what it used to be, she gets SO angry that she just runs away from the Pokemon Center. Ash then wonders what he said that made her so angry, and Brock thinks for a moment. Brock then says its best to leave her alone for now, and she’ll eventually get over it. But Ash doesn’t seem too pleasant…

Meanwhile, Misty wanders alone through Viridian City, with tears in her eyes, wondering if she made the right decision to leave Ash and Brock… After walking for a while, having no idea where she is, three boys approach her, depressed to see such a girl cry. They quickly run up to her, and try to cheer her up, asking whats wrong. She bluffs and tries to fake being OK, as she holds back the tears… but they’re not fooled easily. So, she introduce herself, and they introduce themselves as Chan, Shan, and Rin. They say that their known throughout Viridian City as the “Fighting Brothers”, and they put on a little act with their three Hitmons to cheer Misty up. Then, one of them suggests “How ‘bout a bit o training to cheer ya up!”

Misty and Chan have their battle in a nearby park, and the rules are 1 VS 1. Rin and Shan watch as Misty takes out Politoed, while Chan uses Hitmonchan. Politoed quickly shoots out a Water Gun— and knocks out Hitmonchan! Surprised, Chan tells his brothers to help them defeat Politoed, as they take out Hitmontop and Hitmonlee. Misty freezes, wondering what to do… Then, who is to appear but Ash and Brock. Apparently, they have been watching them the whole time, and they decide that its their turn to challenge the other two. Surprised, Misty thanks them for saving her. Ash takes out Pikachu, which easily knocks out Hitmontop with a Thunderbolt, and Brock uses Forretress, knocking out Hitmonlee with a Rapid Spin. Misty thanks them once again, and Brock introduces himself and Ash, saying that they’re Misty’s friends. Then, Ash turns to Misty, and she tells him that it looked great to see them fighting at the same time! They suggest they should train more.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket are nearby, thinking of a new plan. Eventually, Meowth tells Wobbuffet to push a switch, and when he does, two goalposts rise from the ground on the field where Ash and co are standing, and they trap them all inside as they close! Ash and co are surprised and well when they see Team Rocket appear again… but the Fighting Brothers seem to be acquainted with Team Rocket! They ask Team Rocket to let them out, but they just ignore him… and then they realize who these brothers are! They start arguing with Team Rocket, and they mention a bargain they made long ago about Team Rocket promising to get them some gold… but apparently they don’t have any. Chan and co get angry at them for breaking the promise… and luckily, Chan had some scissors in his pocket. He takes them out, and uses them to deactivate the net, jump out, and pounce on Team Rocket! A bit later, they close the net back up before Ash and co could get out! Looks like the brothers betrayed them. However, Ash and co take out Pikachu, Politoed, and Forretress, and they work together to blast through the net, and send TR blasting off together with the Fighting Brothers!

Then, Misty tells Ash about how good he battled, and he thanks her as well. They exchange glances with happy expressions… but suddenly, Misty’s expression turns serious. She decides that she’s gonna go get her bike. She runs to the center, and a few seconds later, she returns, the bike working fine. Ash and Brock decide to take a little walk, following Misty on her bike (Togepi sitting in the basket) as they head down the river. Misty then notices various things about each of them: Ash forgot to wash his face, Pikachu hasn’t been eating enough, and Brock… well, she’s a bit surprised and relieved that he hasn’t fallen for any of her older sisters.

On the way, she doesn’t really feel like bringing all that up, so they talk about their adventures. Misty then realizes how much she’s gonna miss Ash and Brock, going on all sorts of cool adventures, encountering lots of cool Pokemon, meeting new people… and of course, she’ll never forget the day she met Ash. It may have been accidental, and it may seem like they only got to know each other more because of the bike… but then Misty admits that she traveled with him because she wanted to make friends. Brock then says he felt just the same way, and realizes how far he traveled just by meeting Ash and Misty. Misty just smiles at Ash and Brock.

As the sun sets, the three of them come to the point in the path were it’s time to separate. Ash and Misty gaze at each other… shake hands, and declare “Until the day we meet again!” Brock then quickly remembers something, and realizes that he has to go home too! Apparently he’s got some busness to do… Ash waves goodbye to Misty and Brock, and sets off his own way… However, suddenly, they come back! They happen to have presents for Ash to remember them by! Brock gives him a knife and fork, while Misty gives him a handkerchief. Ash thanks them a bunch, and as he says his last goodbye Misty and Brock, he feels he’s ready to leave… or not. He then leaves, wondering if he did the right thing… but deep in his mind he knows he did. As they part, Misty wonders if Ash will get her message from when she gave him the hankerchief , and Brock is still crying, and using his tears to salt some of the leftover rice balls. As for Ash, he lets out his tears in the hankie, as he runs towards Pallet Town!

Home sweet home… Ash made it home with Pikachu. His mother welcomes him, and he goes to sleep. He wakes up and eats breakfast, as his Mom tells him that Gary is supposed to be back today as well, to study with Oak. Ash, wanting to meet up with Gary, quickly leaves the table and goes to visit Oak. However, when Ash arrives at Oak’s, he says that Gary already left. Ash, a bit disappointed, asks where he went, and Tracey says that he found a new goal. Oak says that he left all his Pokemon except Blastoise at the lab to study. However, Ash doesn’t give up… he asks where Gary went, because he really needs to talk to him. Suddenly, Gary comes back, and tells Oak that he decided he wants to quit his goal of being a Pokemon master, and instead go off to study about Pokemon. Ash, glad to see Gary, quickly tells him what he needed, as he takes out Gary’s half of the split Pokeball, and says that its really Gary who deserves it. He thanks him a bunch, and then he and Gary set off in opposite directions.

Ash then hangs out with Pikachu outside for a while… and suddenly, Pikachu points up, surprised. Ash looks up, and gasps… it’s Ho-oh, and its flying towards Houen! Then, he remembers that that’s where he’s headed too, to face lots of new Pokemon, and new battles. Ash’s Mom seems to be surprised that he’s leaving, and says that she wants to talk to him first. Ash then starts heading back— and falls into a trap hole! He looks up, and to his “surprise”, he finds Team Rocket again. Ash gets angry and says that he just parted with Misty and Brock, and it would be nice to part with them. However, they ignore him, and use Weezing to give him a Smoke Screen, blocking his view of the top. Pikachu starts to be in pain… but Ash thinks fast, and remembers his separation gifts… he quickly gives Misty’s handkerchief to Pikachu, and stuffs it in his mouth so he won’t breath the stuff, and then he uses Brock’s utensils to dig into the rock, and climb out of the hole! As he gets out, he flashes the fork, spoon, and handkerchief, as he has Pikachu Thunderbolt them, sending them blasting off.

Ash then thanks Misty and Brock in his heart for the items, and decides that he still wants to be a Pokemon Master! Then, Ash stops at Oak’s house, and tells him that the next day, when he sets off on his journey to Houen, he wants to do as Gary did, and start the journey with just Pikachu. He wants to let Oak study his Pokemon, and he wants to have space for a team of brand new Pokemon. Oak then suggests that if he goes to Houen, he should stop at Mishiro Town first, and meet Professor Odamaki, one of his students. Tracey wishes him best of luck, and then Ash’s Mom comes, and tells Ash to put on some new clothes, since he’s been in these for a while. He changes, then Oak wishes him good luck, as he quickly checks out Ash’s upgraded Pokedex. He gives it back, and says that Ash is just about ready to go to Houen. He shakes his fist, does his “Pokemon Master” pose, and gets ready to leave for Houen tomorrow!

Pokemon Episode 274: Johto Photo Finish

Scenario:

Our last episode left off with Ash and Harrison facing each other in a quarterfinal match, down to the last round. Charizard and Blaziken have just been trying to out Flamethrow each other. Eventually, they blow so hard, that the whole field gets shaded by smoke, and when the smoke clears, they stand, glaring at each other! Charizard goes for another Flamethrower, but Blaziken easily avoids it by jumping. However, Charizard quickly turns towards Blaziken, and releases a Dragon Rage! However, Blaziken lands, avoiding it. Then, Blaziken goes for a Flamethrower, which Charizard easily avoids by flying in the air. Then, they get into another Flamethrower battle… and eventually Blaziken just stops, and quickly moves out of the way, using Quick Attack on Charizard, and Fire Punching him in the face! However, Charizard doesn’t give up, as he uses another Flamethrower, which gives Blaziken a bit more damage. Then, as Blaziken goes for another Quick Attack… Charizard quickly grabs him by the back, lifts him up, and goes for a Seismic Toss! As Charizard drops Blaziken, he hits the ground hard, unable to get up. The ref gets ready to declare Charizard the winner…

…Never mind. Blaziken easily gets up! As Ash is surprised, Brock thinks a bit deeply, and points out that Blaziken used a Flamethrower just before he hit the ground, which somehow caused him to avoid the hit. Apparently he was just playing dead. However, Blaziken may be still up, but he’s got lots of damage, and he’s nearly out of breath. Charizard is also nearly out of breath himself… Anyways, Blaziken goes for another Quick Attack… but Charizard counters with Flamethrower, hitting Blaziken. Charizard then tries going for a Seismic toss again… but Blaziken jumps up, avoiding it… and “Blaze Kick”s Charizard right in the face! Apparently, this was a hard kick… and Charizard has trouble getting up. …Charizard finally gets up, and just as Blaziken attacks again with Flamethrower, Charizard lets out a Dragon Rage. There’s a huge explosion between the two… and when the smoke clears, they seem to have both fainted!

…Or have they. Ash and Harrison yell desperately to get up, but they seem to have both fainted. This match is a— Wait! Charizard begins to stir… and Blaziken moves a muscle as well. After a load of struggling and suspense from the audience, they both manage to get up… and with all their might, they toast each other with the Flamethrowers of fate… and again, they both seem to have fainted— However, Blaziken and Charizard both manage to move a bit… but suddenly, Blaziken gets up on his feet. Charizard, however, seems to be out cold… no wait, he’s moving…

Yes… Charizard is finally back up… …Collapsing again. This match goes to Blaziken. Everyone applauds, Harrison bows, and Ash… well, actually, he takes the whole thing calmly, shakes Harrison’s hand, and congratulates him on winning . Misty and Pikachu are a little depressed, but they congratulate Ash on his good skills. Some of the other spectators applaud to that as well, and Ash bows.

So, Ash has finally finished the Johto league, and he decides to let Squirtle train a bit more with Jenny. Oak and Ash's mom say they'll be going home soon, Ash is surprised, but it seems that Mr. Mime was left to take care of the housework, and the herbs in the garden, and Oak also needs to get home to take care of the lab, which he'd left Tracey in charge of. Then, Ash asks Oak what he thinks of Charizard’s condition. Apparently, it may have to stay in the local Pokemon center overnight, but it will be returning to Liza tomorrow. Ash thanks Oak, as him and Delia head back to Pallet Town.

Meanwhile, today is the day the “badges” Team Rocket sold are “supposed” to be in. A bunch of people come to the front of the building to pick it up… but apparently, the badges being sold are not the ones they ordered! Everyone starts to sigh and boo…^^;.

The next day, Harrison faces Toshiya from St. Cherry Town in the semifinals, and as Ash watches, he loses (Houndoom VS. Rhyhorn I think). However, Ash notices that Harrison didn’;t use Blaziken the whole battle… but Brock, being smart, points out that from yesterday’s battle, Blaziken needs to recover at the Pokemon Center. Later that night, Ash and co. happen to be walking by the nearby pond, and they notice Harrison relaxing there. Harrison seems to be worrying about Blaziken at the Pokemon center, and then he notices Ash and Misty. They comfort him a little, hoping that Blaziken is recovering well. Then, Harrison goes on to another subject, and asks Ash if he really knows Oak personally. Ash, surprised, answers and asks why. Harrison then explains that he heard lots of rumors about Oak from Professor Odamaki, that he’s a famous Pokemon researcher, and that he also knows many battle strategies depending on the field, so he figured that was probably him. Harrison then finds out to his surprise that Ash has actually met Oak, been to his lab, taken his hand, and even got that Pikachu from him! Harrison then explains to Ash about how he left Mishiro Town to participate in the Johto league, and how Odamaki has explained to him that in different worlds they can meet different Pokemon, with a flashback showing Odamaki with 5 different new kinds of Pokémon. Then, Harrison explains how during his trip, he came across many different experiences, and states that meeting Ash was one of his important experiences. Then, Ash explains that he hasn’t been to Houen yet, and Harrison immediately recommends that he go. He also says that he should meet Professor Odamaki, the one who gave Harrison his Blaziken. Also, it would be nice to meet lots of new Pokemon! Ash then raises his fist in triumph, ready to set out… but suddenly, they hear a woman scream! They jump, and decide to go after the scream.

A bit later, Ash and co follow the screams, and find a bunch of people screaming by a hotel. Ash asks whats wrong, and one of the women points to three transparent white ghostly objects floating about! Ash then takes out Noctowl, and has him use a Foresight to see what’s causing this illusion. He does so, and it reveals a Misdreavus! Ash seems surprised, wondering what a Misdreavus would be doing there… but then, Gary approaches, also surprised to see the Misdreavus… and he can immediately tell that it’s looking for something. Wondering what it’s looking for, they all decide to follow it as it goes into the woods… Eventually, the Misdreavus leads him to a tree… which has another Misdreavus wedged under there, and stuck! They decide to try to help its friend. The push on the tree… harder… and harder… until, SNAP! The tree breaks, and Misdreavus is saved… or is it. It seems to be in a lot of pain! They all crowd around it… then, Gary puts his arms around the injured Misdreavus… and waits for a while… and then, Misdreavus opens his eyes, happy to see Gary saved him, and glad he’s safe himself. Then, Misdreavus goes back with its friend, and they disappear into the forest.

Misty wonders what just happened, and why wild Misdreavus would come to the Silver Convention, but Gary then explains that the Misdreavus have a habitat at the foot of Mt. Silver! Ash complements Gary on his knowledge, and tells him of the wonderful things he saw on his journey, such as a Magikarp evolving into a Gyarados, and a Remoraid evolving into an Octillery… Gary agrees that this is one of the many wonders of Pokemon… and then, Gary mentions that he plans on giving training a rest, and planning to become a great Pokemon researcher! Ash wishes him best of luck, and Gary thanks him and congratulates him on making it far, as they shake hands again. Misty and Brock point out how interesting it was that they started out as enemies…

Later, during the Silver Convention final, just as the battle ends, it’s Rapidash VS Rhyhorn (Rhyhorn belonging to Toshiya of St. Cherry Town), Rhyhorn wins, and Charles Goodshow, the chairman, awards Toshiya the Silver Convention trophy! He thanks him, and sets off. The Silver Convention is over now, and it’s a silent moment at the arena…

…But meanwhile, Team Rocket are inside the building cooking up an evil plan with the money. Suddenly, from the window, Team Rocket notice a mob coming… and they’re glad to see they have more “customers”. However, then they realize they are their old customers, coming to collect their debt from the scam! James is worried that they’re caught, and closes the shutter… but then, Jessie says “There’s no such thing as ‘no way out’!” as she pushes a button… Suddenly, their whole building turns into a ROBOT, which walks away, escaping…!

Meanwhile, Ash and co, Gary, and Harrison, are getting ready to part. Harrison says he’s planning on battling in the Indigo league, Gary says he’s gonna take the cut through Mt. Silver back to Pallet Town, and Ash is gonna take the path through Viridian City back to Pallet Town, together with Misty and Brock. Ash and Harrison shake hands, promising to meet again... when suddenly, Team Rocket’s building-robot approaches, ready to take Pikachu! They shoot a missile, which separates Ash and Pikachu, as they grab him with one of the hands! Quickly, Gary takes out Blastoise, uses Hydro Pump, which sogs up the net, letting Pikachu escape! As Team Rocket are surprised, Harrison takes out Blaziken, and burns the robot! As it heats up, Ash has Pikachu use a Thunderbolt, blowing up the robot and sending them blasting off.

Afterwards, Ash, Harrison, and Gary exchange handshakes, wish each other luck on their goals, as Harrison sets off (Gary still has to go with them part of the way)! A bit later, when they get to the path where Ash and co. separate from Gary, they shake hands, and Ash wishes him luck on his Pokemon studies. Gary then wishes Ash luck on becoming a Pokemon master, and they wave to each other… until Gary disappears in the distance. Ash then sets off on his way back to Pallet Town.

Pokemon Episode 273: Playing with Fire!!

Scenario:

Our last episode left off when Ash and Harrison were about to fight the semifinal battle in the Grass field. Ash deicdes to use Pikachu, as Harrison takes out Kecleon! Suddenly, Kecleon disappears into the scenery, and Ash tells Pikachu to be careful. Suddenly, it appears again! Oak, from the audience, mentions that there are lots of Pokemon Ash has not battled yet. Ash’s Mom mentions that if Ash wins this he’ll be in the top 4. Then, the ref signals the match to start!

Pikachu starts to head towards Kecleon, but it disappears. Pikachu starts to look around, considering the pattern on its stomach is still visible. Suddenly, he finds it, and goes for a Quick Attack, but Kecleon is just too fast. It disappears yet again into a grassy area. Pikachu desperately runs around, but has no luck. Then, Ash has an idea… he has Pikachu try to use its hearing sense to track down Kecleon! He does just that… He closes his eyes, listens deeply for a rustling sound… suddenly, he hears it, and runs towards it! He managed to find Kecleon, but then he sticks out his tongue, and licks Pikachu from head to toe! Pikachu gets paralyzed, so Kecleon uses its chance to camouflage and run around confusing Pikachu. Just as Kecleon uses a Psybeam, Pikachu regains consciousness and dodges it. Kecleon goes for another lick, but Pikachu runs off to hide in the nearby grass. However, Kecleon does give his tongue-lashing up, and tries to Lick Pikachu again… but Pikachu stops him by grabbing the tongue with his hand! While Kecleon cant move, Pikachu Thunderbolts it, winning the round! Brock, Misty, and even Gary congratulate Ash on his strategies.

As Harrison returns Kecleon, Ash and Pikchu do the victory pose, and Harrison uses good ol’ Sneasel! Pikachu starts with a Thunderbolt, but Sneasel avoids it quickly with its great speed. Then, Sneasel uses a Metal Claw, knocking Pikachu out! Misty gets worried as Ash runs up to the field to make sure Pikachu is ok. Apparenly it get hit, but Brock says not to worry, considering they have a whole match ahead of them. Ash congratulates Pikachu on its battling, as he lets him rest with Misty.

Next, Ash takes out Totodile. He starts off with a Water Gun, which Sneasel easily dodges. Sneasel counters with a Metal Claw, but as he starts to do so, Totodile Bites his arm, and starts dancing around. Totodile then uses an Iron Tail, knocking Sneasel out! Harrison returns Sneasel, and states that he’s not as easy as he seems…

Hypno is taken out next. He may be a strong Psychic type, but Hypno tend to be resistant to lots of attacks! Totodile starts off with a Scary Face, but its totally ineffective, as Hypno doesn’t flinch. He just keeps staring . Then, Hypno uses Hypnosis, putting Totodile to sleep! Then, Hypno picks up Totodile with Psychic, and throws him across the field, making him faint!

Next, Ash takes out Snorlax… but to his surprise, Snorlax is already sleeping! J Ash may be a bit surprised, but he seems relieved that now Hypno’s Hypnosis will be unaffective… However, Misty worries that it can still use physical attacks… but it doesn’t! It goes up to Snorlax, and uses Dream Eater! Misty and Ash get worried at what will happen now… but then, since Snorlax lost its dream, it wakes up! It seems to be really upset… so upset that it starts too go in a rage of Hyper Beams, knocking Hypno out! Now that 3 of Harrison’s Pokemon have been knocked out, it’s time for the intermission.

Ash goes to talk to Misty and Brock for the break, they congratulate him, and Gary waves from way back in the audience… Meanwhile, Team Rocket are arguing over what to do now with all the money and badges they got. Eventually they come up with a plan, to go and trade them, and then sell them, and maybe get something special for the boss…

The intermission is over, and now Gary is rooting for Ash… Back at the field, for the second half of the battle, Ash takes out Noctowl, and Harrison takes out… Steelix! Worried, Noctowl starts off with a Confusion. However, as the whole field gets covered in the blast, Steelix Digs into the ground, and pops out, hitting Noctowl! Misty and Brock seem to be impressed at how fast Harrison’s Steelix is… even though its not on their side. Anyways, Noctowl tries to use Hypnosis, but Steelix attacks it with an Iron Tail, fainting it! Ash’s Mom seems a bit worried about this battle, but Oak explains to her that Harrison tends to mainly use the counterattack strategy.

Now they both have 3 Pokemon left, and Ash takes out Snorlax again. Snorlax starts off with a Hyper Beam, but Steelix quickly dodges it and starts to Bind Snorlax! Then, Steelix Bites Snorlax… but Snorlax desperately goes for an Ice Punch! Steelix’s curled up body gets all frozen, and Snorlax manages to easily slip out. Then, Snorlax uses a Hyper Beam on the frozen Steelix, knocking it out!

Misty and Brock realize that Ash used a great strategy, since Ice attacks are effective to Steel type Pokemon. Next, Harrison, challenging for another interesting strategy, sends out his Houndoom! Snorlax desperately lets out a Hyper Beam, but Houndoom quickly uses Counter, knocking the Hyper Beam back at Snorlax, fainting it! Brock is surprised at how Harrison managed to get a Houndoom with COUNTER. Harrison then boasts about how his Pokemon are special… However, Ash is ready, since they both have two Pokemon left.

Ash then takes out Bayleef! However, Harrison, Misty, and Brock are surprised at his choice, since Grass types are weak to Fire… Oak also wonders whether it was a mistake. But Ash seems confident… yes, he has Bayleef start out with Razor Leaf, which Houndoom easily burns with Flamethrower. Brock then shouts that Grass type attacks are no good against Fire type Pokemon, so Ash has Bayleef use Headbutt… but as she comes near, Houndoom tries to Bite Bayleef’s head! However, Bayleef quickly sends out her Vines, and ties Houndoom’s mouth shut. Now that Houndoom can’t use Flamethrower, Bayleef lifts it up, and smashes it against the ground, fainting it! One more Pokemon left for Harrison…

Crossing his fingers, Harrison sends out… none other than Blaziken! Professor Oak recognizes Blaziken as one of the Pokemon that can only be gotten in Houen, and Ash checks the dex, and to his misfortune, its another Fire type, which Bayleef is resistant to! Misty and Brock desperately watch, as Bayleef starts with Razor Leaf again. Then, Blaziken just kicks, and his foot simply burns them. Bayleef better be careful now! Bayleef tries a Vine Whip, but Blaziken simply catches the vine, and starts pulling Bayleef towards him. Bayleef tries her hardest to free herself, but Blaziken, is just too strong. When Blaziken finally pulls Bayleef close enough, he uses a Fire Punch, and knocks out Bayleef! Now, Ash has only one Pokemon left. Among Ash’s supporters, Macey from the preliminaries happens to be in the crowd, greatly impressed by Blaziken’s strength, wishing she had one.

Ash thinks fast, and sends out Charizard! They finally got to the final battle… but Harrison seems nervous. Blaziken may be at a really high level, but so is Charizard! Charizard starts with a Flamethrower, as Blaziken counters with his own Flamethrower! Who will win? Tune in next week…

Pokemon Episode 272: Can't Beat the Heat!

Scenario:

We last left off at Heracross about to be hit by a Hydro Pump. Fortunately, there was a nearby rock he managed to hide behind… however, the Hydro Pump was so powerful that it broke the rock, and hurt Heracross, making him faint! This round goes to Blastoise.

Now Ash has only 4 Pokemon left… Brock realized that the Hydro Pump was pretty strong, EVEN for a Blastoise! Anyways, Ash sends out Muk. Blastoise starts by using a Skull Bash, which barely affects him, like most physical attacks. So, it counters with a Sludge Bomb! However, before it gets to him, Blastoise uses a Rapid Spin, and manages to shake it off, as it heads towards Muk… However, when it reaches him, it gets caught in his slimy body! Muk starts to smother Blastoise in its body… until, from underneath, Blastoise lets out whatever it could of a Hydro Pump, and blows Muk away! Ash decides to withdraw Muk for some rest.

As Harrison is watching, Ash sends out Bayleef next. Although he does have a feeling Blastoise may win this, regardless of types… Anyways, Blastoise starts off with its usual Hydro Pump. However, Bayleef easily dodges it, as he lets out a Vine Whip and a Razor Leaf. However, he easily avoids it with Rapid Spin! However, before Bayleef can do anything, Blastoise stops… and it bites Bayleef’s leaf! Before Ash can say anything, Blastoise quickly swings Bayleef down, fainting it and gaining another victory!

Gary congratulates Blastoise, and Ash returns Bayleef, declaring that he’s not as easy as he seems. Gary then says “Yeah… Whatever”… Anyways, now that a trainer lost 3 Pokemon, there’s a 5 minute intermission… Then, Ash says hi to Misty and Brock, as they give him advice… they say he should use Pikachu, since his opponent is a water type. However, Ash doesn’t wanna force Pikachu to fight… plus, last time it faced a Blastoise it didn’t do so well, and anyways, it doesn’t want to… Then, Ash’s Mom and Oak talk about how him and Gary should have been friends… and how they could have been, etc.

A bit later, the intermission finishes, and back at the field, Ash takes out Snorlax. Gary, deciding to give Blastoise some rest, uses Arcanine. Although Misty is surprised at him returning Blastoise, Brock figures he’s saving it for the end. Anyways, Snorlax goes for a Tackle… but Arcanine avoids it by using a Fire Spin, which sends Snorlax trapped in a fire tornado! It has a little trouble getting through the wall of fire, so it uses… Hyper Beam, which breaks through the fire and hits Arcanine. Arcanine tries desperately to get up, but it fainted! Back in the audience, Delia claps, surprised to see that Snorlax has so much power (she’s used to seeing it sleep). Oak mentions that all Pokemon have to have SOME kind of power…

Back at the field, Gary takes out Nidqueen again. Ash warns Snorlax to be careful, because this fella also can use Hyper Beam. Ash happens to start off with Snorlax using that, but Gary, remembering what Bayleef did, has Nidoqueen use its tail to bounce up and avoid it! However, Snorlax keeps shooting it around… but Nidoqueen manages to stop it with a Double Kick! However, Snorlax avoids being damaged. Then he uses an Ice Punch, which freezes AND faints Nidoqueen! That’s another one down!

Gary, who’s a bit impressed, comments that Ash’s form training is rather interesting (in a negative way)… as Misty and Brock get a bit irritated. Anyways, Gary’s next Pokemon is a Scizor! Scizor starts out with a Quick Attack, dealing a bit of damage to Snorlax. However, he uses a Hyper Beam again. Scizor, with its excellent speed, dodges it quickly, and then uses a Metal Claw, which hits Snorlax in the face, knocking it out! Misty and Brock realize that Snorlax was overwhelmed by Scizor’s speed… Ash is gonna have to find a way to beat him!

Ash returns Snorlax, and takes out Muk. Scizor goes for a Body Slam, but as it reaches Muk, it gets caught in Muk’s slimy body! Although Gary is surprised at that effect, Muk counters with a Sludge attack. This damages Scizor again, who tries using its Metal Claw trick! It fails, so Scizor tries another trick… it carefully grabs Muk, lifts him up… and flings him into the air! While he’s in the air, Scizor uses a Swift attack, which hits him, and by the time he falls, he’s already fainted.

Now Ash has just one Pokemon left… as he crosses his fingers, he throws the Pokeball, and… out comes Charizard! Apparently, that’s exactly what Gary predicted he was gonna use, so he has Scizor use Steel Wing! However, Charizard counters with a Flamethrower… which Scizor avoids by flying up. Charizard notices this, and flies up too! Although Gary is surprised, Charizard plans his aim carefully… finally, he shoots a Flamethrower, which knocks Scizor down, fainting!

Now, Gary has 2 Pokemon left. He decides he’ll save Blastoise for last, so he sends out… Golem! Misty and Brock realize that either one would have been a smart move, because their both immune to fire… Golem starts off by jumping really high, and creating a crack in the ground (Magnitude)! Charizard has trouble moving on the shaking ground… However, Charizard flies up, and grabs Golem, going for a Seismic Toss… but then Ash realizes why it’s having trouble holding Golem. Gary points out that Golem is the second heaviest Pokemon after Snorlax. Suddenly, Charizard can’t take it anymore, as he lets go of Golem, messing up the Seismic Toss! Back on the ground, Golem uses a Rollout. But Charizard avoids it, and uses Dragon Rage! It may be fire, but it has Dragon element in it, which hurts Golem, fainting it! Meanwhile, Oak explains to Delia how this worked, and why Dragon attacks would affect Golem. Gary seems to be glad though, that this battle is turning out how he expected. Crossing his fingers, Gary sends out Blastoise. Ash comments on how Blastoise may have an advantage, but Charizard is more experienced. Then… they battle!

Charizard starts off with a Flamethrower, but Blastoise easily avoids it with a Rapid Spin. Then, Blastoise uses its Hydro Pump, but Charizard flies up and avoids it. However, Blastoise goes for a Skull Bash this time… but Charizard easily avoids it again. Desperately, Blastoise continuously uses Hydro Pump, as Charizard flies really fast and avoids it. Ash then laughs, as Gary realizes he was too overconfident. Misty points out that Water attacks aren’t always affective against Fire types…

Back on the field, Ash quickly thinks of a strategy as he sees Blastoise and Charizard batting away with Hydro Pump and Flamethrower. Suddenly, Ash has an idea. Instead of going for Blastoise, he tells Charizard to aim for the rocks in the field! Gary, Mistry, and Brock get confused, and wonder what Ash is up to, as Charizard keeps frying the rocks. Suddenly, the rocks start to melt, and the field starts to get HOT! Finally, after all the rocks around Blastoise burn to magma, Blastoise has nowhere to move. Desperately, Gary tries to think of a strategy… and then he remembers Blastoise’s advantage, so he has Blastoise use Hydro Pump, which cools the field! Suddenly, the whole field is covered in a cloud of steam, so they wait a while, until it finally clears up.

Now, Charizard and Blastoise are both weak, so they have to try their best… Charizard starts with a Dragon Rage, but Blastoise Withdraws into his shell and avoids it. Then, Charizard uses its usual technique— Seismic Toss. As Charizard lifts up Blastoise, Blastoise tries to Bite Charizard… but he easily avoids it. They start to rise, glaring at each other… Then, Charizard drops Blastoise, and he desperately tries to get up. When he realizes he can’t, he faints, making Charizard the winner! Ash has won the first round of the finals, against his greatest rival! However, to Ash’s surprise, Gary calmly leaves the field, and Misty, Brock, and Pikachu go up to congratulate Ash.

Meanwhile, Delibird has come to collect Team Rocket’s debts… all the money they stole. However, they pretend to not have it, when Delibird shows Meowth the account book, which says they owe a lot… they think for a while of an idea to make money… then they sing their TR theme song!

Later that night, Gary hangs out by the nearby pond, and Ash comes along. Ash asks how he’s doing, and to his surprise, Gary gives him the half of the split Pokeball from before! Then, he congratulates Ash on his great battling, and how he’s not that ashamed of his loss. He said that it was in fact his first 6 on 6 loss, and that it feels normal to lose now. Ash thanks him, and they shake hands, and promise each other that they will be friends, regardless of who is the better trainer.

The next day, Ash is ready to face his next opponent in the Grass field—Harrison! Ash is chosen to go first, so he uses Pikachu. Harrison, to Ash’s surprise, takes out Kecleon…

Pokemon Episode 271: The Ties That Bind

Scenario:

The episode starts off with Ash and Gary arguing about who’s a better trainer, in front of Misty and Brock. Misty gets annoyed that this will probably take forever, while Brock thinks it’s because of the final tournament, and its causing a big argument. Then, Gary takes something from his pocket… which seems like half of a Pokeball, and asks Ash if it seems familiar. Ash, apparently remembers it as the “Pokeball that split a while ago”! Misty asks what they’re talking about, and wonders if it has anything to do with Gary winning… but they seem to be talking about a draw, and how embarrassing it was. Ash is confident that he’s gonna win this time, in the 6 on 6! Gary just laughs, and runs off.

Afterwards, Ash quickly searches through his back, and pulls out half a Pokeball as well, as Misty and Brock gasp. He explains that this was the half of the Pokeball he got when he got in a huge fight with Gary, as he starts to remember that time…

…Long ago, before Ash left on his journey, it was a fine day, and Ash was fishing on the nearby river. Suddenly, he got a bit from a Magikarp! He starts to pull it up… but it uses a Doubleslap with its fin, avoiding the line. On the other side of the river, Gary sees this and starts laughing, and trying to give Ash a few tips. Ash complains and says that that’s how he always fishes, and Gary’s tips totally confuse Ash ^^;. He starts talking about where to fish, when to fish, etc., making Ash look like an idiot. He gets annoyed, and argues that he found this place first… and then they start a big argument ^^;. Then, Gary makes a point that either way, they cant get anything if they don’t have a Pokeball. Ash says he’s only fishing for fun, but Gary rants on about how he was going for Magikarp, the weakest Water Pokemon, and he let it get away ^^;. Gary then decides to play with Ash’s mind, and starts testing him on Magikarp’s attacks… and gives Gary a few laughs after getting all clueless.

Then, Gary acts smart, and start going on about how his three attacks are Splash, Tackle, and Flail, and he brag about how his own grandfather, Oak, taught him that. Then he takes out a copy of a book and starts acting conceited, about how his grandfather wrote it. Then, he starts going on about how it will be so easy for him to be a Pokemon master, and Ash will never get to be one, considering his bad luck with Magikarp. They get into a big fight and start arguing for a while, then they go back to fishing. Suddenly, Ash and Gary seem to have both caught something! They each roll up their lines carefully…

Apparently, both of their strings were hooked onto the same thing— A Pokeball that has been flowing from upstream! They both pull hard, arguing over whose it is. They pull harder… and harder… and harder… when suddenly, the Pokeball shrinks, and splits, knocking them both back!

They get up, each picking up their own half of the Pokeball, as Ash declared it’s a draw. But Gary, being the immature brat he is, declares that a draw means he won…

Misty and Brock realize Ash must be using the half Pokeball as a good luck charm for becoming a Pokemon master. Ash and Gary have been rivals for a while… Now they’re gonna really test their strength with a full battle! Ash seems to have high spirits, but Misty reminds him to relax, since the tournament is tomorrow, and he has a whole day to rest, or practice. Brock then looks at the guidebook, and tells Ash that he’s gonna need lots of strategy for the 6 on 6 battle tomorrow, but he seems to already have some strategies planned…

Meanwhile, Team Rocket have the fake badges scheme all set up, and are selling them, except for one problem: They haven’t had a single customer yet. Suddenly James gets an idea to have double sales, and Jessie and Meowth think that will work. James also shows them that he made a counterfeit of the rare tournament ceremony badge! They decide they’re gonna sell that too…

Next day, early in the morning, Misty wakes up, surprised to find Ash on a nearby PC! He seems to be having a lot of trouble with the PC, so Misty asks him what he’s doing, and he explains that he got out of bed around 5AM, because he couldn’t sleep. He was under lots of stress due to the battle with Gary, so he decided to wake up and look up some data on him. Brock then wakes up, and tries to help Ash. He tries to be smart by saying he already knows how to use a database, but then Brock realizes that the computer isn’t running well, so he tells Ash to reboot(He ends up not doing it, because that word confused his mind XD), and then it was time for breakfast.

Later, during breakfast, Ash and co ponder about what type of Pokemon Gary will be using. Brock figures, that considering he’s Oak’s grandson, he’s apt to have all the types! Also, their bound to have high levels… but Ash is confident in facing strong Pokemon, in fact, that’s what he’s looking forward to! However, Brock warns him that since he has a variety of types, it wont be easy deciding who to use, unlike against a Water trainer like Misty, or a Fire trainer like Macey. Ash then realizes he’d have trouble making a team, as he starts to worry…

Suddenly, in the distance, Ash sees… Charizard approaching! Ash gets so excited as he runs over to hug him, and gets a flamethrower again. Awww. Apparently, Brock called Liza at the Charicific valley, and she sent Charizard over just in time! Ash thanks Brock, just as Gary approaches, glaring, surprised to see Charizard. Charizard is about to flame Gary, but just then, to Ash and Gary’s surprise, Prof Oak and Ash’s Mom appear there! Misty and Brock shake hands with them, having not met in a while. They said they came because they couldn’t afford to miss a full battle with them live. Oak also tells them to save the fighting for later.

Then, Prof Oak gives some exciting news: There’s a new Pokedex upgrade available! Ash and Gary are excited to hear that there are more new Pokemon, as Oak puts them into the PC— and the data gets uploaded to the Dexes!

Ash thanks Oak, as he tells them there are a lot more Pokemon he hasn’t seen yet. Then, Misty gets excited and asks if there are any new Water Pokemon, and Brock asks if any of the new Pokemon are good for breeding, and Oak tells them they are. Suddenly, Gary looks surprised that he barely has any data of the older Pokemon (you know how he barely uses it), and before Oak can say anything, he just runs off. Meanwhile, Ash is thinking about tomorrow’s battle…

Brock decides to help Ash and have a strategy meeting with him and Misty. However, before they can start, Ash’s Mom interrupts, witshing him good luck against Gary, and doing her usual act… etc. After he finishes, he returns to the room with Misty and Brock to plan a strategy, and Delia goes back to talk with Oak about how she’s impressed at how strong they are…

Meanwhile, Team Rocket are proudly looking through their earnings, and boasting to themselves about how their plan really worked! Now, they start to cook up a plan for tomorrow, selling 3000 badges…

The day has come, it’s time for the finals. Before battling, they go to the desk, and the light circles the board to decide what type of field it is(Water, Fire, Grass, or Rock), and it lands on Rock. Now Ash is more eager to start the battle… While in the locker room, Ash is examining the half Pokeball from the fight with Gary… and then Harrison comes in, telling Ash about his first victory in the Water field. Ash congratulates him, and tells him he’s about to fight Gary in the Rock field. Harrison wishes him luck, as Ash thanks him and leaves the locker room, getting ready for the battle of his life…

Everyone cheers as Ash and Gary are about to fight (Brock flirts with the cheerleaders as usual). Suddenly, a mountain comes up, as the field becomes a Rock field. Then, the light signals that Gary goes first! Gary takes out a Nidoqueen, who happens to be at a very high level. Ash thinks fast, and takes out Tauros. Nidoqueen starts with a Fissure, but Tauros avoids by jumping on a rock, and heads for Nidoqueen with a Horn Attack! Ash’s Mom then gets excited and starts taking pictures… But then, Nidoqueen uses a Hyper Beam, easily knocking Tauros out, winning! Gary congratulates Nidoqueen, as the cheerleaders cheer… and Brock gets hornier.

Ash returns Tauros, and takes out… Heracross! However, Gary withdraws Nidoqueen, and sends out Magmar! Magmar starts by releasing a Flamethrower into the air, as Heracross flies up and avoids it. However, Magmar tries again, this time with a Fire Blast! Heracross gets wrapped in the fire, as Magmar uses a Flamethrower again for the time being, weakening it more! Suddenly, Heracross regains consciousness, and manages to send the fire away, as he uses a big Flash, but Magmar counters with a Flamethrower. Their attacks collide, and eventually the Flash overpowers the fire, making Magmar faint, giving Ash a victory!

Gary is a bit surprised, but seems too confident. Gary’s next Pokemon is... Blastoise! Oak, who’s watching this, mentions that he remembers giving it to Gary back when it was a Squirtle. Misty and Brock are surprised to hear that, as they continue watching. Heracross starts off with a Horn Attack, but a bit before he gets there, Blastoise shoots a big Hydro Pump!

Pokemon Episode 270: Tie One On!

Scenario:

The episode starts off with Macey (the trainer who just lost to Ash) and Jackson, of New Bark Town having a battle (Only if you lose two battles, you’re out). Ash is watching this battle, excited, since he knows he’s going to have to battle Jackson afterwards. As they battle, Macey’s Magcargo and Starmie faint, as well as Jackson’s Golduck and Quagsire. Now they’re each down to one Pokemon, making the final round Poliwhirl VS Quilava.

Macey starts out with having Quilava use a Flamethrower, as Jackson quickly has Poliwhirl counter with a Water Gun. However… Macey’s Starmie, who still has a bit of energy left, manages to paralyze Poliwhirl with a Thunderbolt, making the Flamethrower hurt Poliwhirl, fainting! Macey just won, giving her 3 victory points, making her equal to Ash! However, Ash argues that it’s better when you get straight victories.

Afterwards, Ash makes a quick stop at the center, and lets out Bulbasaur and Squirtle. Man, are they glad to see each other after so long. However, Ash has an important meeting at the league hall, so he leaves Bulbasaur and Squirtle, telling them to play nicely. However, Ash suddenly notices Jackson, talking with Elm on a nearby phone! Suddenly, Jackson notices Ash too, recognizing him as the person he’s supposed to battle next. They shake hands, and Elm recognizes him too! Then, Ash asks Jackson how he knows Prof Elm, and he explains that Elm gave him a Chikorita, his very first Pokemon, on the day he left New Bark Town for training. Now, it happily evolved into a Meganium. However, Ash wonders why Jackson didn’t use it when he was battling Macey, and he said that now that it’s really strong, he only uses it as a secret weapon for when he really needs it. Then, Elm asks how Dani and Yoshi are doing. Jackson says that Dani is doing OK, although he hasn’t spoken to Yoshi in a while. Then Elm mentions that they were in the previous tournament. Jackson just laughs and says “slow and steady wins the race” J.

Meanwhile, Squirtle and Bulbasaur are taking a stroll outside, and eventually they come across an apple tree. Squirtle asks Bulbasaur to go get an apple with his Vine Whip. He gets up there… but suddenly, Meganium comes along, and scrambles for the apple as well! Eventually, Squirtle catches it, and divides it into 2 equal parts. Suddenly, Meganium swipes one of the pieces and gives it to a nearby Azumarill! Squirtle gets angry, but Meganium and Azumarill burst out laughing. Squirtle decides he’s gonna make them learn the hard way, as he puts on THE sunglasses! Bulbasaur then goes to attack Azumarill, and they get into a little fight. Squirtle gets ready to attack, but Meganium quickly grabs Squirtle’s leg, tripping him. They start laughing like mad, when suddenly Bulbasaur and Squirtle start pouncing on them, as they get into a fierce catfight.

Meanwhile, Ash gives Elm the good news, that he got Larvitar safely home to its mother Tyranitar. Suddenly, Ash and Jackson notice outside the window, that Bulbasaur and Meganium are fiercely fighting, as well as Squirtle and Azumarill! They run outside to deal with it… yelling at them to stop and quiet down, yet it does no good. Suddenly, who is to come by but Harrison, as he sends out a Miltank, which he has use Heal Bell. Suddenly, everyone stops fighting, and they all calm down. Ash, surprised to see him, thanks him, just as Jenny approaches as well… Apparently someone saw the fight and reported it. Then, Harrison tells her that they were only practicing, likely warming up for the battle, and Jenny apologizes. However, Gary approaches as well, and denies it all being a “practice”. Jenny then gets suspicious, and eventually says that she doesn’t know who to believe, but she warns Ash and Jackson to be more careful. Ash gives Gary a sarcastic thanks, and then Gary acts like his old self again, and argues with Ash about who’s gonna make it further. Misty then gets mad and tries to stop the fight… But its no use. They keep arguing about stuff like who’s gonna make it to the final. Then, Harrison gets a bit annoyed, and asks if they are rivals, and Gary says they are.

Later that evening, Team Rocket hide in the yard of the league hall, and plot another “fake badges” scheme. It gets darker… They can’t think of much to do, so they explore the hall. Suddenly, James manages to find imprints of badges! They decide they are gonna use them to make fake badges…

Meanwhile, Ash, Misty, and Brock are looking up Jackson’s data on a PC. They notice Jackson’s strongest Pokemon is Meganium, so Misty immediately suggests he bring Cyndaquil. It also says that he uses his Azumarill a lot, so Ash, predicting he will use it, decides he’s definitely gonna use Pikachu. However, their not sure what else he’s gonna use… So Ash decides he’s gonna play it lucky…

The next day, Ash and Jackson are at the field, ready to battle! The lights decide that Jackson go first, so he starts with Azumarill! Ash decides to use Pikachu, as he starts out with a Slam, but Azumarill counters with a Water Gun, which sends Pikachu flying… but just as he lands, he heads at Azumarill with a Quick Attack! However, Azumarill dodges it, as Pikachu tries for a Thunderbolt. But Azumarill manages to fade out the Thunderbolt, using a Bubblebeam! Then, Azumarill uses an Icy Wind attack. This not only hits Pikachu, but also makes it hard for him to move! Although Pikachu is still standing, Azumarill goes for an Iron Tail. However, Pikachu then stands on HIS tail, and dodges the Iron Tail, and uses a Thunderbolt, which hurts Azumarill, making it faint!

As Jackson returns Azumarill, he sends out… Magneton! However, this one is a shiny pokémon, giving Jackson something to boast about. Ash seems confident in battling a fellow Electric type. Pikachu starts out with a Thunderbolt… and Magneton Thunderbolt’s him back. They keep doing this, and neither seems to have an effect on the other. Pikachu decides he’s gonna fight physically, and goes for a Quick Attack, but Magneton dodges it, as he hits Pikachu with a Thunder Wave! While Pikachu is a bit paralyzed, Magneton goes for a Tri Attack, knocking Pikachu out. Misty and Brock are surprised, and Brock figures that that Magneton’s higher stats are because of it’s special color.

Ash takes out Cyndaquil, as Brock says it’s a good choice, since Fire attacks are good against Magneton’s Steel type. Magneton starts out with a Thunderbolt, but Cyndaquil quickly jumps and dodges it, as it uses a Flamethrower! However, Magneton easily dodges it, and goes for a Thunder Wave. Then, Cyndaquil hides himself in Smoke Screen, avoiding the Thunder Wave. Now, Magneton is having trouble finding Cyndaquil, so it uses Swift, which hits, like always. The smoke clears away, so Cyndaquil uses another Flamethrower… But Magneton avoids it with Double Team! Before Ash or Cyndaquil can do anything to find the real Magneton, they all use a Thunder Wave, paralyzing Cyndaquil! Cyndaquil starts trying to shake it off, but Magneton quickly uses a Tri Attack, hitting Cyndaquil and fainting it!

Now Ash only has one Pokemon left to use. Brock warns him to make a wise descision… so he sends out Bulbasaur! Ash prays that Bulbasaur does his best, since that’s all he has left. Anyways, if Magneton won, he’d lose, but if Bulbasaur won, he’s had to face Meganium next… Back to the battle, Magneton starts out with a Thunderbolt like before, which Bulbasaur easily dodges, as he uses a Razor Leaf, which hits Magneton! Then, Megneton uses a Double Team… however, Bulbasaur swings his vines around, and eliminates all the fake images, and smacks the real one with a Vine Whip! Then, Magneton uses a Thunder Wave, which is avoided by Bulbasaur’s Razor Leaf. Then, Magneton goes for a Tri Attack… but Bulbasaur avoids it with another Vine Whip. Then, Bulbasaur tries a Leech Seed, which hits Magneton and starts sucking his energy out! Then, Bulbasaur grabs Magneton with his vines, and slams it to the ground, fainting it!

Now they’re both down to one, and as Jackson returns Magneton, just as everyone expects, he takes out Meganium. Bulbasaur and Meganium glare at each other, remembering yesterday’s fight. Bulbasaur starts with a Razor Leaf, but Meganium counters with a Razor Leaf of his own! Meganium’s Leaves happen to be stronger, and they destroy all of Bulbasaur’s leaves, and hit him! Then, Bulbasaur uses a Vine Whip and grabs Meganium, but Meganium does the same thing and starts to grab Bulbasaur… Apparently, Meganium is heavier, so he manages to lift up Bulbasaur, and slam him to the ground! Then, they get into a physical fight… Meganium keeps trying to Body Slam Bulbasaur, but Bulbasaur is just too quick, and keeps avoiding it. Then, Bulbasaur uses a Razor Leaf, and manages to finally hit Meganium! Then, Meganium goes for a Vine Whip, but Bulbasaur jumps and avoids it, and uses HIS Vine Whip to grab Meganium’s neck. Then, Meganium uses a Razor Leaf again, hitting Bulbasaur… He may have been injured, but he won’t let go! However, Meganium shakes as hard as it can, and manages to shake off Bulbasaur. Then, he hits Bulbasaur AGAIN with a Razor leaf! However, Bulbasaur uses its vines to grab Meganium’s neck again, weakening him, as he uses a Razor Leaf, which hits Meganium, making it nearly down. But, Meganium manages to release himself again! Then, Bulbasaur and Meganium smack each other’s faces with Vine Whip repeatedly. As they keep hitting themselves, Brock realizes their both about to faint… Then, Ash and Jackson, at the same time, command a Solar Beam! They both shoot a beam… suddenly the beams collide, making a big blast… After a while, it clears up… and it looks like Bulbasaur and Meganium both fainted from the blast! This match is a draw!

Ash and Jackson thank their Pokemon for putting up a good fight, and now that the league preliminaries are over, it looks like Ash can go to the finals, now that he’s got 4 points! Ash and Jackson shake hands, as Bulbasaur and Meganium shake vines. Then, Macey yells from the audience, wishing Ash the best of luck. Ash seems confident he’s gonna win! Meanwhile, Team Rocket are looking at what they earned from their scheme… and planning to do something with it the next day…

Ash returns to the hall, to see who he battles first for the finals. First, he notices that Harrison made it up, and he seems glad… Then, he notices his own face next to Gary’s! Ash seems a bit nervous, but confident that its beatable. He and Gary glare at eachother, looking forward to tomorrow’s battle!

Pokemon Episode 269: Love, Pokemon Style!

Scenario:

Ash just saved the League opening ceremony, and now all the league competitors are at the hall lobby, looking at the screen displaying the tournament brackets. Ash notices he’s supposed to battle a girl. They also explain about the “Victory Points” system, which the league uses, where they give 3 points for every win, 0 for every loss, and 1 for every draw, and if there’s a draw, whoever has more points proceeds. When Ash heard that, he felt more confident than ever! He was going to do his best to win that Tournament! Suddenly, that girl that Ash is supposed to battle appears. She quickly drags him out of the hall, and says she needs to talk to him…

She said that she first wants to have a practice battle with Ash, to test out her Pokemon before the battle. Ash, likely wanting to do the same thing, agrees. She warns him that she’s had a lot of practice with her Pokemon, but Ash doesn’t seem to worry. So they start, as she takes out Vulpix, and Ash uses Pikachu. However, before they can do anything, a trap net appears, catching Pikachu and Vulpix! Sure enough, it was Team Rocket, who ride away on a bike before Ash can do anything. They dash after them, but suddenly, Ash loses his balance, and falls off a cliff! The girl, who seems worried, quickly grabs Ash, and helps him back up, and she introduces herself as Macey. Suddenly, right in front of them, are Team Rocket. Quickly, Ash sends out Bayleef, and has it use Vine Whip to knock the net off the bike, and save Pikachu and Vulpix! Then, Bayleef uses a super strong Vine Whip, and sends TR blasting off.

Macey happily hugs her Vulpix, and then Misty and Brock who saw the whole thank make sure Ash is ok. He is, and he thanks Bayleef for the help. Suddenly, Macey grabs Ash, and starts to drag him off! It seems she wants to talk to him alone. Suddenly, Misty interferes with Macey and Ash, and Macey gets really mad, and glares at Misty...J. Misty then claims that she heard Macey diss Water Pokemon, and Macey agrees, and says Water Pokemon really do suck. Misty get really angry, but Macey doesn’t give up, and insists that Fire Pokemon are much better. They argue for a while, then Mist asks what Macey wants with Ash, and as you would expect, she refuses to say. So, Macey just leaves Misty alone, and goes to talk with Ash about tomorrow’s battle, while Misty prays with all her heart that Ash wins.

Later that night, Ash goes to the Center to heal his Pokemon, and also get all of his Pokemon with from Oak(He can just leave at the center the ones he isn’t gonna use). Brock starts flirting with Joy, and Misty drags him away, as usual. Ash then thinks about who he might use, and after much deliberation, he remembers he can do trainer data analysis on one of the PC’s here. He does that, and looks up Macey, and finds out that she specializes in Fire type Pokemon. Misty, being the water-fanatic she is, immediately gives Ash the advice to use Water Pokemon. However, Ash realizes he only has 2 Water types, Kingler and Totodile. Misty thinks that’s all right, and 2 Water Pokemon are good enough to face fire Pokemon. Brock is still concerned about the other Pokemon that Ash will use, But Ash doesn’t seem that nervous… he says he’d decide during tomorrow’s battle, which he’s very much looking forward to.

The next day, Team Rocket are cooking up their “fake badges” scheme, and selling them to little kids. Meowth almost sells one of James’ “extremely valuable” bottle caps, but James stops him.

Meanwhile, Ash sends out Kingler to warm up a bit at the center, and also just a reunion, since he hasn’t seen Ash in a while. However, suddenly a trainer upstairs loses control of his three Voltorb, as they roll down the stairs, and hit Kingler, exploding! Kingler faints, and Ash realizes he’s injured very badly! Quickly, he brings Kingler over to Joy, and she examines him… and she gives Ash the bad news: Kingler’s in such a bad condition, that it won’t be able to battle today. Ash facefaults when he realizes all he has now is Totodile…

Suddenly, who is to appear but Jenny in her motorcycle, and by her side, our old friend Squirtle! Ash was very glad to see Squirtle after a long time, and Jenny says that Squirtle saw Ash, and the whole ceremony on TV, and he motioned to her that he wanted to be on TV to with Ash, and so she quickly ran Squirtle over to Silver Town. Brock starts doing his usual flirtatious act, just as Misty drags him off. However, Ash is wondering what happened to the whole squad, and she says their back at the lodge, training. She also mentions that Ash’s Squirtle has done a lot of training with him, and is now a whole lot stronger. Ash gets enthusiastic, and asks if he could use Squirtle. Jenny then mentions that him wanting to battle is part of the reason he came!

Later at the stadium, the lights decide that Macey should go first, and she sends out a Slugma, so Ash sends out Totodile! Slugma starts with a Flamethrower, but Totodile counters it with a Water Gun. Slugma’s Flamethrower dies, but Slugma avoids the attack himself with a Double Team, and then Macey makes a remark about not underestimating Fire Pokemon. Slugma spreads around a little more, avoiding Totodile, and eventually hits him with a Flamethrower. Now Totodile knows who the real Slugma is! Slugma tries to avoid it, but Totodile hits him with a Water Gun. Slugma may have not fainted yet, but he’s hurt a lot, so Macey decides to give him a rest as she withdraws him. Now, she sends out her next Pokemon… Electabuzz! In that case, Ash returns Totodile, and sends out Phanpy! Although Macey was surprised, Brock knew he was gonna use Phanpy. Macey quickly has Electabuzz use a Thunderbolt, but of course, it has no effect on a Ground type like Phanpy. Macey, a bit annoyed, returns Electabuzz to its Pokeball, and takes out Slugma again. Ash decides to leave Phanpy out, and uses an Earthquake, which totally stops Slugma and prevents him from moving. Then, while he can, he uses a Rollout, and hits Slugma. However, Slugma manages to let out a Flamethrower, but Phanpy curls himself in a Defense Curl, avoiding the attack. Suddenly, the Earthquake gets worse, and Slugma is heaving trouble moving so Phanpy decides to use a Take Down… and THAT finally faints Slugma! Ash seems happy, but Macey is still a bit nervous, so she sends out… Quilava! Now, Phanpy tries to use a Rollout, but misses, due to a Flame Wheel from Quilava. Macey laughs, and has Quilava hit Phanpy again with a Quick Attack. Phanpy may be hurt, but he doesn’t give up! He starts running towards Quilava… but Quilava uses Flame Wheel, which finally faints Phanpy! So far it’s a tie… Now, Ash takes out Totodile! Macey, being smart, withdraws Quilava, and sends out Electabuzz! Suddenly, Brock, who’s watching, realizes Ash is in trouble… He only has 2 Pokemon left, and their both Water Types, which are weak against Electric types like Electabuzz!

But anyways, Ash doesn’t give up. He starts off with Totodile using a Water Gun(what a genius!), which Electabuzz avoids with Light Screen. Although Totodile goes for a Headbutt, Electabuzz counters with a Thunder Punch, which sends Totodile flying, and making him faint! Now Ash has no choice, he HAS to use Squirtle. He apologizes to Totodile for sending him out against an Electabuzz. So, Electabuzz starts off with a Thunder Punch… but Squirtle actually MANAGES to counter it with a Water Gun!! Although Macey may be surprised, Jenny expected this exactly, after all the practice it had with Water Gun. She cheers Squirtle on, just as it dodges another Thunder Punch of Electabuzz. Squirtle jumps again and attempts to shoot a Water Gun, but this time Electabuzz avoids it with Iron Tail! Now, Squirtle quickly stands right beside Electabuzz, making himself get hurt a little, but Electabuzz hits himself! Electabuzz manages to hit Squirtle a bit with Thunder Punch, but Squirtle quickly regains consciousness, and hits Electabuzz with a Water Gun! Brock and Misty get a bit more impressed, but Electabuzz is now really upset, and uses a Thunderbolt. However, Squirtle quickly avoids it, and hits Electabuzz with a Skull Bash, fainting it!

Now, Macey has no choice but to use Quilava. She does that, and Squirtle hurts it with a Water Gun. However, Quilava quickly makes a wall with Flame Wheel, avoiding the Water Gun. Then, Quilava uses a Swift, which Squirtle avoids with a Bubblebeam! However, Quilava quickly stops it with Smokescreen. Squirtle then uses Water Gun and Bubble, which not only hit Quilava, but take away the smoke, but then Quilava uses a Quick Attack. However, Squirtle goes for a Body Slam… but he misses, and lands on the ground and hurts himself a little. Quilava realizes that now its his chance, as he sends a Flame Wheel right after Squirtle… but Squirtle jumps, withdraws into his shell, and starts spinning… generating a Hydro Pump!! It hurts Quilava so much until it faints, declaring Ash the winner!

Macey thanks Quilava for at least putting up a good fight. Misty, Brock, and Jenny go up to Ash, and congratulate him and Squirtle on winning. Then, to everyone’s shock, Macey seems to be on Ash’s side, and congratulates him for putting up a good battle, and thanks him for making it a challenge for her. Ash bows, and thanks her as well.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket are plotting to buy something with all the money on the fake badges they stole. They eventually start arguing on what their gonna buy...

Anyways, Ash has just earned 3 victory points! Everyone congratulates him… Suddenly, one of Macey’s Pokeballs pops open, and Slugma comes out, and immediately evolves into Magcargo! Looks like it gained experience in battle. Then… Macey shakes Ash’s hand… and tells him she loves him! Everyone is surprised, and Ash, who doesn’t really know what to say, finally says he wants to go train for his next battle(what a way to avoid her)! Misty and Brock seem surprised at what just happened, but for now, they just wish Ash luck on his next battle!

Pokemon Episode 268: A Claim to Flame!

 Scenario:

Ash and co. have finally arrived in Silver Town, where the league tournament takes place. He starts by healing his Pokemon at the center. Brock searches his backpack for the guidebook on the Tournament, just as who is to appear but Gary. Ash is surprised to find that Gary is also participating in the league, but Gary does his usual act, bragging about how he already finished registering. He keeps going on and on, as Ash gets angrier and angrier… and uses his secret weapon comeback about making it further in the indigo league. Gary, realizing he has nothing to say, just walks off. Misty and Brock are impressed at Ash’s courage, and wish Ash the best of luck! Later, they go shopping, and in one of the shops they happen to meet Charles Goodshow from before! They talk a bit, glad to see each other again, and he says he heard Ash was going to be in the Silver Tournament, and expects a great battle!

Meanwhile, Team Rocket have gone for a snack at the nearby Silver Town restaurant. They seem to be annoyed at the long line, so they cut through. Apparently, Jessie knocks into a lady, and she gets really angry and starts yelling. They argue for a bit, and then make a deal, as Jessie gets pulled into the kitchen. She realizes she can’t avoid this… so she waits. Then, someone asks her to cook something, so she agrees… but just as they leave, to James and Meowth’s surprise, she starts EATING the hamburger! They get surprised, but she gets angry and declares that the food is their possession now, as she gives them each a piece, and they run. However, the manager of the joint has found out, and starts chasing after themJ!

Meanwhile, Ash and co have gotten to the Johto League Silver hall, (a restaurant/Pokemon center type of place) where Ash is supposed to find out more about the tournament. Then, they go into a cool room with all sorts of high tech equipment. Along with a bunch of other people, he gets to sit in a comfy seat in front of a PC, which shows a bit of data on the Silver Tournament competitors. Brock warns Ash that this is no time to relax, since its time for the selection meeting. Ash agrees, and tries his best to concentrate. Brock explains, according to the guidebook, that during the selection meeting, they go to the selection hall, and they have battles there to decide the participants in the league. The rules for the selection battles are 1 on 1, and at the end, 48 trainers are to be chosen out of the 200 that registered. Ash seems to be cool with that, and Brock states that even if a trainer loses, there is a chance they can make it to the league preliminaries.

Later, they announce that Ash is supposed to battle a trainer named Saburou, from Cherrygrove City. Ash and Saburou step up, and the lights start flashing, and slowing down, until they stop on the box that means Ash attacks first. Ash sends Pikachu to battle, as Saburou sends out… Furret! Not only Ash, but Misty and Brock are also surprised. Brock warns him to be careful, since that Furret must be at a high level. Ash starts out having Pikachu Thunderbolt, but Furret does a Double Team, avoiding it easily! Pikachu is surprised at first, but gets more confused as they multiply and start surrounding him… The forms keep doing this until he is totally confused, and then all the forms disappear, as Furret uses Swift and hits Pikachu before it even notices! As Pikachu gets damaged, he regains consciousness, and heads at Furret for a Quick Attack! However, Furret escapes the attack by digging into the ground… coming out from behind, and using Headbutt on Pikachu! Pikachu decides to try a bit better… but Furret uses the Dig-Headbutt technique again, hurting Pikachu more!

Brock and Misty try giving Ash a bit of advice, but Furret keeps repeating this technique, sometimes even using Swift along the way. Ash figures he has to get Pikachu to stop Furret somehow. Saburou then points out that Pikachu is really weak now, and another attack could faint it… However, Pikachu jumps just in time, grabbing on to Furret’s back, as he flops around trying to get him off. As he hangs on, Furret manages to get underground! But, it looks like he took Pikachu with him. While underground with Furret, Pikachu Thunderbolts him… and suddenly, the ground explodes, creating a big hole in the field. Looks like he used a LOT of power. In the hole, Furret starts to get up, dazed. However, just as he’s getting up, Pikachu Slams him down, fainting him. Looks like Ash won the selection battle, and is now definitely going to the league preliminaries. Ash and Pikachu high five, as Saburou hugs his Furret, making sure it’s ok. It seemed ok, and anyways, Saburou said it put up a great fight. Ash and Saburou shake hands, promising to battle some other time.

Afterwards, Ash goes back to the main hall, and looks at the big screen with the tournament brackets, and glad to see his face there among the 48. Then, he notices Harrison (the one who helped get the Sacred Fire)’s face is there too. As he notices Gary’s face, he crosses his fingers and wishes himself best of luck. At least he’s glad he made it to the tournament for the time being. Suddenly, Charles Goodshow taps him from behind, and wishes him good luck. He explains that its simple, and each battle is fought using 3 Pokemon each. Then, the best 16 trainers head for the “survival system”, i.e. the finals. When Brock and Misty hear this, they warn Ash about the finals. But it doesn’t really matter, he’s confident with Pikachu!

Later that night, both Ash and Pikachu have trouble sleeping, due to the league preliminaries tomorrow. After much deliberation, they decide to go out for a walk. As they walk, Ash talks about how good he hopes they do, and how he’s confident in winning. Suddenly, Ash is surprised to notice Gary sitting by the river, right beside him! They each admit to each other that they can’t sleep, so they decided to hang out by the river. They both look at the moon, as Gary remembers the time he left Pallet Town… He says that Ash was lucky to have been late, as he noticed that his Pikachu is stronger than he expected. He also talks about how he was pleased with his… But he never expected Pikachu to be that strong. Then, he admits that it doesn’t matter who is better, and it’s all a matter of the pathways you take in life(Looks like Gary grew up a lot). They talk a bit more, and Gary says he hopes to win, but he hopes more to have fun in the tournament. However, Gary reminds him that their still rivals. But anyways, they wish each other good luck, and go back to sleep.

Next morning, Ash quickly gets dressed, and makes his way to the Silver ceremony, full of fireworks. Ash uses a nearby phone to call Oak, just as Tracey happens to be helping him organize documents and stuff. So, Ash’s Mom answers, and he tells her about how things are going there, about the flame and everything. She gets impressed, but Ash has to leave quickly, so he hangs up. Misty and Brock shake hands with Ash, wishing him luck as he heads for the stadium and they head for the audience. As Ash walks into the stadium, he happens to be right behind Gary, as they wink at each other. Suddenly, Team Rocket come along, disguised as people who are rooting for Ash. They make up some story(I think it has to do with Ash having forgot something), and they lure Ash, and somehow trick him into giving them Pikachu, as they shut him up in a box. Ash is then surprised to find that its really Team Rocket! Ash quickly shakes hands with everyone during the ceremony, and then sets off after Team Rocket to look for Pikachu. Gary seems concerned as well, and decides to go after Ash. Meanwhile, Oak is watching TV, and wonders why Ash and Gary seem to be acting so weird. Back at the stadium, Ash and Gary head after where Team Rocket went, and suddenly Ash gets trapped in a net! Gary is surprised, and quickly loosens the ropes for Ash. Suddenly, Team Rocket, in all the commotion, collide with the bearer of the flame! Suddenly the torch goes flying… Ash is worried, and does his best to go after it… and safely catches it. Team Rocket are confused now, and before they can utter a word, Pikachu sends them blasting off with a Thunderbolt.

Although Ash may be happy, he then notices that the bearer of the flame broke his leg! Everyone is shocked, and wants the flame to be carried the whole way… Ash and Gary both consider it. Before they do anything, they crowd around the bearer of the flame to make sure he’s ok… and then they continue their ceremony. Ash and Gary decide to hold the torch together, and as the ceremony continues, Misty and Brock are surprised, as well as Oak and Ash’s Mom, who are watching this on TV. Gary gets tired, so Ash continues the ceremony holding the flame himself, as he thinks about his battles. After everyone applauds, and Mr. Goodshow does a speech, Ash and Gary gaze at the flame in the front of the stadium, and wish themselves luck!

Pokemon Episode 267: Pop Goes The Sneasel!

Scenario:

With taking back Larvitar done, Ash and the rest have no problems heading towards Silver Mountain. Along the way, the notice people gathered at a large closed gate. When they get there, Ash asks what's with the crowd to one of the people. The person says that there's some commotion going on the other side. The bad thing is though, this gate leads to Silver Mountain, so everyone's stuck! The gate opens a tad and one of the attendants explains the current situation. While this is happening, Togepi, who was on the ground, walked towards the gate. Pikachu followed after Togepi and soon the attendant noticed that they were in! The gang runs after them.

The gang gets the Pokemon and apolagize for the mishap there. But the attendant says it's probably perfect timing anyway, since he didn't know how else to say this. All of a sudden, two trainers run down from a set of stone steps, it looks like they were in a battle. One of them yells at the attendant saying that that was too close of a fatal mistake. Ash asks what was that all about, then attendant finally says that nobody's been able to get to the Sacred Fire. Ash, as usual, asks about that. Soon another trainer steps in to tell about that.

But before the stranger could tell the story, the gang breaks that off with a "who are you?". The trainer is Harrison from Mishiro Town in Houen. Brock says he's heard of Houen, which is supposed around here. Harrison starts to explain that long ago, this area was one major place for battles and wars. People ravaged the place so badly that the Pokemon suffered because of it and the vegetation was wiped out. Soon Ho-oh used its power to "burn" the place back to life. Eventually the forest that stands now was restored. But a bit of a tree was left burning for the longest of times. And they placed the fire in a shrine that's supposed to be around here.

The attendant adds though that recently, reports of a Sneasel's been preventing people from getting near. And the Sneasel's also known to use a Machop and Machoke to help. And every trainer who volunteered to try ended up coming back, not only with hurt Pokemon, but even broken bones and other serious injuries. The attendant is really worried, because without the Sacred Fire, the ceromony for the Silver Tournament can't start, and thus, no tournament this year.

Ash says he'll make sure he can get the Sacred Fire secure from the Sneasel, mainly because he wants to go compete. Harrison on the other hand wants the Sneasel, and will help Ash out if he can get his hands on it. Ash asks where is the shrine and the attendant points the way, the same stone steps. Everyone soon goes up the stairs.

Somewhere else in the forest, Team Rocket walks around talking about this Sacred Fire. They plan to get it and pawn it off, and finally they find the shrine, but as soon as they run, they get clotheslined by a Machoke. All but Meowth were decked, Meowth looked around and saw that there was a Machoke and a Machop, followed by a Sneasel. Jesse and James get back up and see the Sneasel, looks like they want the Pokemon as well.

Jesse sends out Arbok to try to take care of the cat. She commands Arbok to use Slam, but Sneasel simply jumps out of the way and gives it one heck of a slash. Meowth makes a snobby comment but Jesse throws him to battle to prove what he said. Meowth tries to give the Sneasle scratches but Sneasel dodges them all and gives Meowth one large swipe and crashes into the Rocket's sending them clear across the path.

The gang is almost there, and when they almost reach the top, Ash runs towards the shrine. However he almost gets clotheslined by manages to avoid it. He almost falls backwards down the stairs, but everyone else grabs him. When everyone reaches the top, they find out it's the Machop and the Machoke that the attendant was talking about. They decide to hit-distract-and-run since they don't want to waste time.

Misty sends out Corsola and Harrison uses his Houndoom to take down the fighting duo. They successfully hold them back with Spike Canon and Flamethrower. While this is happening, Ash goes up to the shrine and opens the doors, but almost gets swiped by the Sneasel. Ash sends out Totodile to try to take the Sneasel on. Ash tells Totodile to use Water Gun (but makes a comment not to hit the Sacred Fire) and Totodile fires water at the Sneasel. Sneasel strikes back with a Slash which gets Totodile down, but not out. Finally the Sneasel gvies Totodile a Shadow Ball that throws Totodile right into Ash! Both get sent right back down the hill, but fortunately they collide into a tree. Something tells them that this isn't going to be easy.

As for the Rockets, Jesse and James get a little doubtful about Meowth. Jesse pulls James over for a private talk about this. Jesse says that they should get the Sneasel, since it's more powerful than Meowth but no less different, it's still a cat. Meowth sneaks up on the conversation and listens to the whole plot to ditch Meowth for that Sneasel. James' is a little hesistant, since he can't picture someone replacing Meowth. Meowth hurries back before they're finsihed and soon Jesse and James goes back. Jesse tries to cover up their plot with some excuse and Meowth is all "happy" about it. James on the other hand seems a little less hesistant.

The gang plans out some tatics and soon goes at the Sacred Fire again. This time they encounter the fighters who are waiting. Ash sends out Phanpy and Harrison uses Houndoom. Phanpy takes the Machop down with a Tackle and Houndoom gets the Machoke with Take Down. This puts the fighters back and when they try to run to their opponents, Houndoom and Phanpy lift them up and send them down the hill. The duo lands on the bottom where the attendant is standing, looks like they could do something else now.

They find the Sneasel, but soon the Rocket's in a Sneasel balloon float above. Everything's almost the same, except Meowth imitating Sneasel. Everyone but Ash knows that it's just Meowth in a Sneasel costume. So the Rockets put their plan into effect. Meowth brings over a present box to the Sneasel. Jesse tells the plan: Meowth gives the box which is really a smoke bomb, Jesse and James pick up Sneasel, and they run off. As for Meowth, he tells the Sneasel what's really going on. The Sneasel doesn't bite and slashes Meowth, the smoke bomb coming out of the present anyway. The bomb explodes and the Rocket's make their move and grab Sneasel. They run off and laugh in their success, but when they check on Sneasel, it's really Meowth! Meowth gives both Jesse and James a good slashing.

The smoke clears and the gang is surprised to see that Sneasel is still there. With no time to waste, Harrison takes the chance and initiates battle. He sends out a new Pokemon this time: Blaziken. Ash tries to scan it on the PokeDex, but there's no data. The brock realizes that this must be a Pokemon from the Houen region. The first attack Blaziken does is Quick Attack, which the Sneasel has no chance of dodging. The Sneasel tries to counter with a Shadow Ball, but Blaziken dodges from that and retorts with a Flamethrower. Finally Blaziken gives Sneasel a Fire Punch, knocking it down. Harrison throws a Pokeball at Sneasel and catches the Pokemon!

Ash comments about Harrison's Blaziken, seeing this Pokemon being strong and all. Finally they go get the Sacred Fire. Finally the ceromony of the Silver Tournament begins with a runner bringing the fire to the stadium. Harrison says that he'll be at the Tournament and he's looking forward to seeing Ash there. Ash on the other hand is left stunned, but then again, nothing comes easy.

Pokemon Episode 266: Mother Of All Battles!

Scenario:

The gang finally reaches near Mt. Silver. Just another day and they're already there for the Silver Convention. Brock carries Larvitar, and everyone's pretty happy about it. After all, it was bad enough that Larvitar didn't trust anyone. They reach a rope bridge spanning a river that's in a gorge. The gang is a little hesistant and Ash asks Brock if there is any way around this. Brock says that this is the only crossing there is. Larvitar happily goes to the bridge anyway and the gang has no other choice but to follow. But from the water below, it appears that someone is spying on them.

The gang follows Larvitar as he happily walks through the forest on the other side. All of a sudden, the ground starts to shake. The shaking continues and everyone's worried about what's going on. Soon a Tyranitar appears, but it doesn't look angry, yet. The gang is shocked at seeing the Tyranitar but notices there's a scar, and it's the same scar that the Tyranitar in Larvitar's mind had. So this Tyranitar must be Larvitar's mother! Ash tries to tell Larvitar to hurry up and go up to his mother, but Ash nudging it stirs up the Tyranitar. The Tyranitar let's loose a Hyperbeam at the gang, but they easily get out unhurt.

The gang starts to run from the Tyranitar's wrath but Larvitar is also scared and runs with them! Ash tells Larvitar to stay put so it'll stop the Tyranitar from going on this insane rampage. Instead Larvitar gets a grip on Pikachu's tail and it's just back to square one. As they run, the same someone gets a glimpse of the Tyranitar from a machine, this time behind some bushes. In the machine is a trio of men in jump suits. One of them wearing a beret, another having a cat-like face, and the final one is a stout person. It looks like these were the same people who was in Larvitar's memories.

They continue to run until the Tyranitar fires the beam past them and knocks them onto their feet. All seems lost but Larvitar suddenly Screeches out. The Tyranitar seemed to get the idea that Larvitar is her son. The brief moment of reunion is cut short when the msyterious people make their move. A projectile is fired at the Tyranitar which captures her in a restraining net. Everyone wonders what's going on until the culprits finally show their faces. They call themselves the Pokemon Poacher Brothers, and as anyone could've guessed, the one in the beret is their leader.

In the distance, the Rockets are spying on the situation from far. It seems like the Poacher Brothers are known to be one of Team Rocket's better rivals. And by that, they're pretty much the same deal, only with wild Pokemon. They think they can get that machine they have to use on the gang, but how? James says they should give them a meal with grilled meat, but all he got was a long moment of silence.

The cat-face pulls out a remote and aims for Larvitar. They fire another projectile but Ash gets in the way, him getting caught in the net. The Poachers aren't too phased, they just try again. Before they could fire again, sirens sound in the distance. The Poachers soon pile in their machine grabs the captured Tyranitar and makes a fast get-away. Before they lost sight, Brock sends out Crobat to follow where the Poachers are going.

Soon a woman in orange on a motorcycle with a Croconaw show up. She asks if there was anything going on here since there was that shaking earlier. Misty is about to explain it when Brock goes up and talks to the woman with the love burst. Brock continues rambling on with random stuff, every so often there's a pause. The woman gets a chance to say that she's Mason, a Ranger of the Pokémon Preserve. Pikachu was poking the restraint that held Ash (throughout the whole time) and finally Ash tries to get some attention. Ash finally is free, but how are they gonna cut a deal with the brothers to make everything win-win? Ash says they should give them a meal, and there's silence. Then they notice Larvitar, who looks a little sad. Ash walks up to him and tells him to cheer up, they'll get his mother back before he knows it. Mason tries to talk to Larvitar, but for some reason, Larvitar gets his spooks back.

Meanwhile, Jesse, James, and Meowth try to make a deal with the Poachers. They even beg for the use of their machine, heck they all give each one massages. Finally the brothers gives them permission, only if they could use their balloon until the Rockets business is over. All in this happening, Crobat, who was hidden from view, flies off to report back to Brock and the others. The Rockets on the other hand enthusiastically jump into the machine and take it for a spin.

Crobat gets back to the gang and soon everyone follows Crobat to see where the Poachers had gone. Along the way however, they get interrupted by the Rockets who still have the Poachers' machine. The Rockets say they're motto before they try the machine out. Just above them however, are the Poachers in the Rocket's balloon with Tyranitar hanging from the basket. The Jesse pulls out a remote and fires another restraint net to them. Ash tells Pikachu to use Thunderbolt against it and Mason has her Crocnaw hose it down with Hydropump. The net is relfected back at the Rockets which sends the back into the sky.

The Poachers came prepared for this though. The cat-face brother pulls out another remote and starts up the machine from there. The machine charges right at them, everyone surprised. It gives the Poachers just enough time to snag Pikachu and Cronaw. And to prevent any other resistance, they fire a restraint at everyone but Larvitar! Ash tells Larvitar to screech, not only will it get Larvitar's mother's attention, but it'll distract the Poachers long enough. Larvitar nods and makes a loud Screech. It does distract the Poachers and Tyranitar notices. Soon Tyranitar wiggles around and breaks free but is stopped by a charge of electricty. If only they could get that remote somehow.

The Tyranitar however doesn't care for a little electricty, she still tries to break free by continously firing Hyper Beam charges. The front netting finally snaps and the Tyrannnitar swings around and fires a Hyper Beam at the balloon. Not only does the balloon go down, but the remote goes into pieces as well on the landing. Fortunately for Tyranitar, she's nowhere near the Poachers. Larvitar hurries to Tyranitar, but the Poachers still won't give up the match, they get into the machine and they try get them that way. Ash tells Larvitar to use Hidden Power to take them out. Larvitar charges up for Hidden Power, while Tyranitar charges for Hyper Beam. The two make a dual attack that blows the machines to bits, only leaving the Poachers sitting down on a metal plate before the whole thing breaks apart.

Larvitar looks up to Tyranitar and jumps up, the two finally are together once more. The Poacher's are left tied up with the whole organization Mason leads thanks Ash and the gang for their hard work. Later in the evening, Mason gives some pointers about the Silver Convention and the direction to Mt. Silver from here. The gang heads off, but after a while, Larvitar calls out to them. They look as see that Larvitar is waving goodbye to them and so the gang waves back.

As for the Rockets, they're left hanging from the bridge, still stuck in the restraint.
