Pokemon Episode 259: Lapras of Luxury

Scenario:
Still in Blackthorn City, Ash calls Professor Elm from the Pokemon Center to tell him that he's coming back. After a moment of talking, Elm mentions a local Pokemon professor has an egg that he'd say he pick up. But busy as always, Elm asks Ash to pick it up for him. With nothing more to do in the city, the group decides to find the professor. They get to a small house next to a single pier. They step inside, but it looks like the place seems empty. That's until the professor (who happens to be a female) runs out in a hurry. Captivated by her beauty, Brock runs after her, Misty and Ash soon follow.

The professor runs out to the pier and sets up a sonar dish and a laptop. She tells her waiting Laturn to sound off sonar waves. Soon the gang catches up to the professor, Brock expressing his feelings until she tells him to be quiet, since she has to listen to the sonar. Soon the laptop picks up a few readings and the professor tells Lanturn to come up now. Ash asks the professor what she's doing, which the professor replies that she's studying the Lapras group that migrated here. All of a sudden, a whole group of Lapras pop up from under the water. The gang is amazed at the sight.

However one Lapras in particular seems to know Ash. Ash is a little confused at first, but remembers that this Lapras is his. A lot older now though, but it sure is the same Lapras from Orange Islands. The professor is a amazed herself about Ash's Lapras, which Ash explains the whole thing on how he got Lapras. All the while away, Team Rocket sees the Lapras group and plans to snatch them.

The gang and the Professor, who's name is Narumi go in the house for now. She explains her line of work in studying Lapras, mainly she's working on their communication. She knows that one of them is the leader, as it makes a different sound, and one happens to be the "mother". She has a few recordings of the Lapras talking which she plays. After a moment, Ash's Lapras calls to him. Everyone checks out what might be wrong from the balcony. Apparently all Lapras wants to do is spend some time with Ash, after all, it's been a long time since they last saw each other. Ash goes to Lapras and hops on. Lapras goes a little too fast than what Ash was used to, but he easily adjusts. Lapras makes a few jumps before riding along a large wave.

They stay out until night time, where Ash tells Lapras about what he's been doing. Everything seems going good until they heard something from the Lapras group. Brock, Misty, and Narumi checks it out to find that the Lapras have been caught in a net! The culprits soon reveal themsevles, which is obviously none other than Team Rocket. They once more say their motto before taunting them and head off. Ash tells Lapras to use Ice Beam, but James sends out Weezing in the nick of time to use Smoke Screen. Team Rocket make their way through the smoke. Ash can't see anything, but Lapras hears the others and follows the sound. Narumi, Misty, and Brock use Narumi's submarine to try to get them from there.

Team Rocket bask in their glory, until they notice that the something's wrong. The look at the port and see the Lapras were chewing on the net to escape! The Lapras leader bites his and holds the net open as the group makes their escape. Jesse tells Meowth to turn on the turbo, but they're also heading into a whirlpool! All but the leader and one other Lapras still remained in the net.

With no luck finding the Lapras on the surface, the gang decides to have Lapras try to find them underwater. Ash gets in the sub and they set off. They soon come to the group and everything seems well. At least that's what the gang assumed until Narumi noticed that their communication was noting there was still a problem. Then they noticed the leader wasn't there. Ash's Lapras decides to go where they went after getting that info from the others. Soon all the other Lapras follow as well as Narumi.

Luckily, nothing too bad happened. All Team Rocket suffered was getting washed back on shore, the two Lapras still unharmed. Jesse complains for a while before getting ticked off with the two Lapras' constantly "talking". Not before long, the group emerges on the shore, Jesse and James happy since they didn't have to go find them. But also the submarine pops up and Ash steps out. Ash tells Team Rocket to release the two Larpas, but as always, it's a no. James releases Weezing and Jesse sends out Arbok. Ash tries to send out one of his Pokemon, but Brock comes in front and release Crobat. Brock tells Crobat to use Sonic Boom which stuns both Pokemon for the time.

Misty and Narumi try to get the two other Lapras, but Meowth blocks the way. Pikachu goes in for a Quick Attack and soon the attack blows Meowth out of the way. Misty and Narumi free the Lapras which the rest reunite. Team Rocket still not having enough decides to try an attack to get the Lapras. However, all the Lapras (except the two who were caught) all fire a concentrated Ice Beam to Team Rocket' Pokemon, freezing them instantly. Pikachu finally gives the final attack with Thunder and Team Rocket soon blast off again.

The next day Ash says his farewell to Lapras, as they need to migrate once more. After a short time, the leader says something to Ash's Lapras, the mother Lapras says something. Soon Ash's Lapras takes the lead. The gang seems a little lost, but Narumi explains because of Ash's Lapras, she's recognized now as the groups new leader. Before the Lapras group dissapears to the horizon, Ash congratulates Lapras on her accomplishment.

Back at the Pokemon Center, Narumi gives Elm a call and tells that Ash will bring the egg she had over. After saying their goodbyes, the gang heads off back to New Bark Town.
