Scenario:
Ash has collected all 8 badges and is now heading back to New Bark Town, eager to sign up for the Johto League Golden convention. Ash and Misty suddenly feel tired of walking, and want to rest soon. They see a cave tunnel up ahead, and then Brock checks the mad for it, and he says it leads out into the sea. Misty suddenly doesn’t feel tired anymore, and runs straight to the tunnel. They follow, and they come out to the seashore, and Misty is impressed at how beautiful it is. Misty then takes out all her Pokemon, and they start to play. However, Psyduck is the only one that can swim, and Misty sighs.
After resting a while, Ash and the others start walking down the seashore, heading for New Bark Town. Suddenly they see a sign ad, “Synchronized swimming show with Pokemon”, near a hall of some sort. Brock suddenly imagines beautiful girls in a swimming show with Pokemon, and says that this is a must see, and runs ahead J. Brock enters, and asks a nearby man where the show is, and he directs him there. Brock then sits in the audience, anxiously waiting for beautiful girls…. But suddenly, Ash and Misty get the feeling that the Cerulean Waterflower sisters are the stars, and Misty gets nervous as the music starts. The show starts, and Ash and Misty enjoy watching the Pokemon dance to the music, but Brock is sitting there, eagerly waiting for the girls. Suddenly, a guy comes out, who happens to be their conductor, and Brock gets surprised and facefaults. However, the Pokemon seem to be doing a good job, and they figure that guy must be a great trainer. Ash and Misty sit back and enjoy the show.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket are watching this from a high up cliff, and are planning to steal all the Water Pokemon and give them to the boss! Meowth and James imagine the boss, swimming in in poll, having fun with all the Pokemon stolen by them…. Then Jessie likes that idea, and they agree to start action of stealing them, which they do.
The show is over, and Ash and Misty go and congratulate the guy, impressed. However, Brock then comes and complains that there were no girls (how rude!), and the guy is obviously shocked, but Misty interrupts Brock and tells the guy to just ignore him when he’s like that. The guy goes on, and mentions that he runs this place, and it’s a Gym. Ash and Misty gasp at the word “Gym”. He goes on, and tells that this Gym is known as the “Coastline Gym”, and he’s the Gym leader, Dorien. Ash and the others introduce themselves as well, but Ash says he’s never heard of the Coastline Gym. He asks Dorien what kinda Gym it is, and what they do there. Then, he leads them inside, and they gasp. The gym is in an underwater aquarium is the sea! Then they see something even more surprising, and that’s a photo of Daisy, Violet, and Lily, the 3 Cerulean sisters, together with Dorien! Misty then points out that those are her sisters, which surprises Dorien, but Ash and the others are also surprised that Dorien knows them! Misty asks how he knows of the Cerulean Gym, and he says that he’s been there a lot, and learned a lot about Water Pokemon, for he loves them too.
He also told them about the dream he had to make a Coastline Gym just as good for Water Pokemon. Misty then says he did a pretty good job, since he’s very good at synchronizing with them. He then says it’s a private Gym, meaning one not authorized by the Johto league, and Ash then understands why they never heard of it. Misty asks Dorien if the 3 sisters ever mentioned something about any other sister, and he says they have, but they say she doesn’t really count because she’s a “loser”, as they say. Misty gets a little angry, and even more after what Dorien says next. He says that they say she’s a girl with a horrible temper J. She tries her best to hold her complaining, and then, he says that now he doesn’t believe any of that crap they said, and he actually thinks Misty is cute as well, even more than the sisters. She seems happy, but Ash then tries to say something negative about Misty, but she interrupts him, yelling. She says she loves water Pokemon even more than the sister’s do. However, Dorien says that he loves them too, and is very talented at battling with them. Misty decides to challenge him to a battle, and he agrees. Also, he gets the idea the Misty seems to have an even better attitude than her sisters.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket are in their Magikarp sub, pedaling towards the Gym and plotting their moves. They notice a bunch of other Magikarp outside, and feel that they blend in well. However, the Magikarp seem to be crowding around the ship so much that they cause a crack in it. Team Rocket seem to have trouble moving, since a crack of water got in, and they seem to be stuck and can’t move.
Meanwhile, Dorien leads Ash and the others to the underwater battlefield. Misty is very eager to battle… But suddenly, they all notice TR’s Magikarp sub out the window, heading towards them! Misty wonder what they’re doing here, and what they would want. Suddenly, they notice they got out of the submarine, and thought they were safe since they were planning something else… But suddenly they enter and say their motto, and tell that their sub broke! Ash is prepared, and takes out Totodile and has him hit them directly with a Water Gun, and Dorien takes out Mantine. It hits them with a Bubble, and then Dorien uses Lanturn, and together with Totodile it uses Water Gun and blasts them off J. Dorien tells Misty he’s ready to battle, however Ash begs to challenge him first. Misty is surprised, but decides to let him anyway (either because she likes him, or she wants to see how good Dorien is), and they each are prepared to battle! Brock, as usual, is the ref, and he calls for them to start! Ash takes out Totodile, and Dorien uses Lanturn. Dorien lets Ash make the first move, and Ash has Totodile attack with a Water Gun. However, Lanturn counters with a Watr Gun of his own, and they both get knocked bath and neither of them hit. At least their in the same condition. Then, Totodile goes for a Scratch, but Lanturn uses a Supersonic, which confuses Totodile! At the time, Lanturn keeps attacking Totodile from all 4 sides easily, since it’s confused. Misty says theres gotta be some kinda strategy…. And whispers an idea to Ash. Ash understands, and tells Totodile to hang in there, and do its best not to lose, and try a Scratch attack. It manages to hit Lanturn perfectly! However, Lanturn may be weakened, but he uses a Spark attack, which hits Totodile. Totodile tries to move, but cant, and falls over and faints, making Lanturn and Dorien the winners. Ash returns Totodile to the Lure ball, and tells it that it did a good job battling. Ash understands that Dorien had a lot of experience underwater, and Ash agrees that Dorien won, fair and square.
Now its Misty’s turn to face him, in a 3 on 3 battle. They prepare, and Brock, the ref, says they may start! Misty calls out Goldeen, but Psyduck pops out of the bag! It landed in the water, and started flopping around trying not to drown. Dorien and Misty understand, surprised, that Psyduck just wants to swim and have fun. Misty takes her floating ring out from the bag, and lets Psyduck swim in an area that won’t interfere with the battle. Back to the battle, Dorien uses Qwilfish first. Misty then takes out Goldeen. Goldeen tries a Horn Attack, which Qwilfish dodges easily. However, Qwilfish uses Body Slam repeatedly on Goldeen, hurting it. Goldeen tries Body Slamming Qwilfish, but he dodges it with Agility! Ash and Brock are worried Misty might lose, but… Goldeen lets out a Supersonic! Qwilfish is confused, but manages to use a Pin Missile and attack Goldeen! However, Goldeen uses it’s tail as a fan, and blows the Pin Missiles back at Qwilfish! Qwilfish dodges them, and tries a Pin Missile again, this time at better range. It hits Goldeen, and then… Goldeen… faints! Round 1 goes to Dorien! Dorien calls back Qwilfish, and uses Mantine for the next round. Misty then returns Goldeen, and uses Corsola for the next round. Team Rocket are watching them from up high on a cliff in a mechanism, about to battle. They get ready to plan their moves…
Back down in the battle field, Mantine lets out a Supersonic at Corsola! However, it doesn’t affect it, and Corsola hits Mantine with a Body Slam! Mantine got weakened a little, but it manages to hurt Corsola with its Wing Attack! Cosola survives through it, and attacks Mantine with Spike Cannon. Mantine avoids it by Agility, and then Body Slams Corsola! Ash was worried that Misty would lose, now that Corsola is really weak… But Corsola then uses Recover, and its strong and healthy again! Now Corsola tries a Spike Cannon, which hits Mantine, making it faint! Round 2 goes to Misty.
Misty congratulates Corsola, and Dorien is impressed at Misty’s battle skills. For round 3, Dorien takes out Lanturn, and Misty is about to send out her Pokemon… Suddenly, a whirlpool comes, and Team Rocket emerge, with a Krabby mechanism! They use the robot, and suck all the Pokeballs up with a vacuum! Ash takes out Totodile, Dorien takes out Qwilfish, and they shoot Water Gun and Pin Missle towards the vaccum. Team Rocket turn on the absorption, and absorb those to attacks, plus all of Mantine, Qwilfish, Totodile, and Lanturn’s power! Misty thinks it isn’t fair, so she takes out Corsola, and has it Body Slam at the mecha’s claw. While Team Rocket noticed that, what they didn’t notice is that the machine is about to suck up Psyduck, who is swimming towards it! Misty decides to help Psyduck, and jumps into the whirlpool. Misty swims towards the machine, but instead of rescuing Psycuck, she gets herself sucked in! Dorien and Corsola try to help as well, but as they swim, they get sucked in too! Ash and Brock are surprised, and they quickly run, but James makes the machine go after them! They quickly hide, and then totally leave the Gym and escape outside, and swim up, and escape! Ash and Brock are relieved to escape, and Ash takes out Noctowl to search for them. Then, Noctowl seems to have found something, and leads Ash and Brock to it. Back in the mecha, TR are thinking Psyduck isn’t worth anything, but Misty, Dorien, and Corsola are tied up! Then Ash and Brock arrive, and demand to let them go. James takes out Victreebel, while Jessie takes out Arbok. Ash takes out Phanpy, and Psyduck is also angry and decides to battle. Ash and Misty are surprised at Psyduck’s courage. Psyduck then gets confused, and forgets what it’s doing. Then, Psyduck Bites Arbok, and then goes crazy, and Jessie gets angry. James has Victreebel use Razor Leaf. However, it won’t hit, cause Psyduck is running around going a bit too insane. Dorien is surprised, since it seems like something’s happening, since Psyduck is getting a severe headache.
Carefully timing herself, Misty tells Psyduck to attack! It uses a Psychic, which sends Arbok and Victreebel flying and getting thrown around, eventually destroying the Krabby mecha and making TR blast off! Dorien is surprised, and has the feeling this isn’t a normal Psyduck. The Pokemon are rescued, and Dorien thanks Misty, and Psyduck, of course. Then Misty apologizes and thinks she should have used Psyduck and not cheated, because he still probably would have won. Dorien declares Misty the winner of the match, as if she’d used Psyduck, but Misty thinks it should be a draw. Dorien thinks this is a good idea, and goes with it as well. Dorien says that Misty’s sisters were lying, and Misty’s an even better trainer than them. Misty thanks him, and promises that they will both be the greatest Water Pokemon trainers. However, Brock asks why the Gym is a private Gym, and he says that if he advertised it, people would think its an official Johto Gym, and then Brock understands, and Misty thinks that’s a good idea. Misty asks if he has any opportunity soon to visit the Cerulean gym, and he says he goes there almost all the time. Misty tells him to tell her sisters that she’s doing well, and has gotten a lot better. He agrees, and then they say their goodbyes.
